It's shape is based on my Corbin Gunfighter, (Why do US company's particularly indulge in these ridiculous *Macho* names for stuff? Especially something like a seat?) which is very comfy but with more under-arse support. I'm told one of the biggest problems with the Guzzi seat base is that stupid, useless, 'Pouch' for the tool kit. I'll believe it.
What I wanted was something with the comfort of the Corbin but a 'Flat' area in the pillion space. The Corbin has a sort of sloped tail that melds stylistically into the tail. Great for a weekend bike but lousy for a round Australia one like this is going to, hopefully, be.
I need a flat perch for strapping a bag on to. I've got a rack for the back but that will probably be used for a couple of Rotopax. Most of my travelling shit, maybe even, (Shudder!) a tent and sleeping bag, will go behind me on the pillion seat.
No sane person will willingly travel on the back of a GRiSO. Certainly Jude would emasculate me with a blunt knife if I suggested she get on the back! A flat perch is purely for luggage convenience. I suppose in extremis I could carry a suicidal masochist out of the central Pilbara to prevent them having to die after having consumed the last of their own urine in the desert heat, but really, it would be a close run thing in terms of choices.......
