Hi Just bought a 2006 1100 GRiSO, 16000 miles. Love it!
Had a low milage 1200 back 2010 - 2012 and always missed it.
1st observation, Noisy gearbox on light load particularly when cold, like gears rattling together. Doesn't sound serious but is it common ?

Face cam shock absorber in the gearbox rattling. I explained it about a week ago in another thread.

Congrats with your bike, and welcome to the forum! Any reason why you went for a 1100 instead of going back to a 1200?

Hi Pete,
1st time I've ever joined a forum, tried to find your earlier info on this.
Could you guid me to the post on this please ?
Is this something I must attend to straight away, or will it wait until the season here is over ?
Thanks in advance for your help.

Huuuurrrrrgh......
Gimme a few hours. I'm watching my team putting up a good fight against the premiers in the footy. They'll get beaten, then I'll go to bed and curse. When I wake up I'll trawl back and find something.
No, you don't have to do something about it immediately.

Hi Pete,
Think I found your original post.
It explains it well.
Thank you.
The noise is by no means scary and seems to go off nearly completely after a few miles.
I did wonder if it might be connected to a throttle body imbalance but your explanation makes good sense.
Enjoy the game, hope your boys don't lose !
Any further info would be appreciated.
Thanks Nick.

They didn't! The fucking Eels won! Against the Panthers! At the Panther's home ground! First time they've lost a match there since 2019!
Doesn't mean they won't be ground to a paste by some pack of cellar-dwelling losers next week but if I wanted to be a 'Winner' I'd neither barrack for the eels or ride a poxy old Guzzi!
