My 2017 GRiSO SE started misfiring a few days ago and I found that the cause probably is a busted and corroded connection at the ignition coil. I have been trying to find the NGK SB05E caps, to upgrade them as well when I´m on it, but they seem to be out of production. They for sale on various sites, but they are all straight ones, and not at an angle like the original ones. Will the straight NGK SB05E fit, or is there also a variety that´s on an angle? Or has anyone used another make/model that works well?
Appreciate all inputs!
Had another look at NGK´s site and found the cap. It´s Item #NGK8374, and SKU #SB05E

Just make sure you use a copper cored high tension lead, not a silicone core type. If you're replacing the lead you can pry off and re-use the metal clip on the end of the lead if you're careful. While these used to be readily available at 'Wottalottacrap Auto' places since the almost universal adoption of plug top coils they seem to have gone the way of the dodo.
Unfortunately the metal clip will be the challenge, and hopefully some "Wottalottacrap Auto Shop" hopefully my rescue. That metal clip on the end of the lead is what is broken. It had been crimped to a oval shape, and therefore had a crack. As a result water has entered and made the surface inside the coil corrode.
An old solution is (after putting the waterproof boot over the cable end) to pare the insulation off the last 12mm of copper (1/2 inch for the old guys) splay the strands out radially and bend them up the side of the HT lead. Use smoth pliers to get them sitting flat the lead will then fit tightly into the coil with no copper showing and good electrical contact.
Use 2 small cable ties to seal the boot to the coil and to the cable.
I notice that you enjoyed riding the Commando. I used to own a -75 850 Commando, and i agree, it was a fantastic bike to ride. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

And yes the Commando was brilliant, especially the 2nd gen 750 with adjustable engine mounts fitted. But I never could work out why the barrel base nuts came unscrewed on some.
Thanks a lot for the link! I went to a couple of shops today, looking for terminals, but none of them had any or any idea where to find any. So the link comes in handy! =)
I had no issues what so ever with my Commando. We went for a tour once through Denmark, Germany, The Nederlands, quite a bit around England over to Denmark and back to Sweden. Two Commandos and a Bonneville. The only hick up on any of the bikes was a flat front tyre on the way back through Denmark. Not even oil spills! =D
