I have a JW speaker 8700 EVO 2 Pro headlight fitted to my GRiSO, however the headlight has more wires than the GRiSO: - Black Wire = Ground - Yellow Wire = Low Beam - White Wire = High Beam - Red Wire = Front Position - Blue Wire = DRL
The GRiSO on the other hand has 4 wires; yellow, white, blue and black. So I connected the blue headlight wire (DRL) to the GRiSO's red, the red wire from the headlight (front position) is not used, and the white black and yellow wires to the matching GRiSO's wires. Everything works except the headlight's 'halo' ring turns on when I turn the key but switches off when I actually start the bike, while it should stay on.
Any suggestions how I should wire the headlight so the halo stays on?

Q: Can the half-halo on the Model 8700 Evolution J2 headlights operate independently (e.g. as Daytime Running Lights)?
A: The Evolution J2 headlights were designed to be compatible with Chrysler’s wiring systems. In European (and other ECE) countries, the half-halo can operate as a DRL. In North America, it cannot. If your North American vehicle has Daytime Running Lights, they operate through the High Beam Circuit. The half-halo will operate whenever the headlights are on, but there is no way to separately power the half-halo optics in this case.

Different LED but LEDperf wires like this (and the angel eye stays on).
From what you say , you have connected the GRiSO Lo-beam (BLACK wire) to the EARTH for the JW
The YELLOW wire coming from GRiSO supplies the parking/running light The BLUE wire coming from GRiSO is common Earth The WHITE wire coming from GRiSO is Hi beam supply The BLACK wire coming from GRiSO is Lo beam supply

I think (vaguely remember) you get 4 wires into 5 by using the Blue Wire from GRiSO twice

& GRiSO doesn't have a RED supply so not sure what you meant with that either...

The YELLOW wire coming from GRiSO supplies the parking/running light The BLUE wire coming from GRiSO is common Earth The WHITE wire coming from GRiSO is Hi beam supply The BLACK wire coming from GRiSO is Lo beam supply
I had a bit of a brain fart while writing it, it is connected as you say so:
Black (Earth) wire to the GRiSO blue Yellow [Lo] wire to the GRiSO black White [Hi] wire to the GRiSO white Blue (DRL) wire to the GRiSO yellow Red (Front position) wire is unconnected
So I think the issue is, that power to the parking/running light is shut off by the GRiSO when you start the engine as the Lo beam takes over. Thus the DRL on the headlight isn't working as its not getting power. Now thankfully the currently unconnected red front position wire of the headlight also feeds the halo, so connecting that to the Lo beam wire results in both the Lo beam and the halo functioning. Unfortunately when turning on Hi beam, power is fed through the Hi beam wire exclusively and thus again the Halo won't function when on Hi beam, but that's unavoidable unless I start messing with diodes and spliced wires.

Okey I figured it out. I should have connected the front position wire (red) rather than the blue DRL wire from the headlight to the GRiSO's parking/running light (yellow) wire. Doing that fixed everything.

How does it look just with parking light? What part is switched on? Does not using DLR mean that you are not using certain LEDs e.g. the half-halo ring at all?
Photos please ;-)

Yes the motodemic one. Its well made but not flawless. Small paint imperfections and the bucket is a mm too wide meaning you have to force it between the mounting points.

Great - thanks a lot! So you just have simply not used the DLR option because our GRiSO does not provide this. I have seen motorcycles with DLR and I do not like it at all - the visability is not good.

Exactly. With the low beam being always on that's better than just having DLR. The DLR with this headlight would simply be the Halo being on.

I'd like to convert mine to this exactly. Where does one acquire this headlight, how much does it cost, does it sit in the same position as the original?
So many questions.
