Subject: 1 year with new 2016 GRiSO Sat Jan 02, 2021 3:52 pm
Hi - I bought a new 2016 GRiSO a year ago and am thoroughly enjoying it! I have been visiting this site off and on and figured I should introduce myself since I find myself visiting it regularly these days. I live in Wilson NC and it seems there are very few GRiSO owners in the area. Is there any way to use the site to search for GRiSO owners by location?

There used to be a map we could peg our locations on, but I think it expired? Can't remember the details - Steak will weigh in eventually.
Oh, and welcome to the Ghetto!

Welcome. Tell us what mods you have made in the year.

I'm 6'2" so most of my mods have been ergonomic related - I have added new risers complete with new front brake lines, new corbin seat, lowered pegs, new piaa aux lights, removed intake snorkel and fabricated and installed an auxllary fuse block where the snorkel used to be, made custom luggage brackets that also double as rigging points so i can raise the bike with a chain hoist safely.
the bike had 500 miles on it when I got it and in the past year, I have put on over 11,000 miles. This thing has a large appetite for rear tires!! I'm on my second front tire and my third rear tire. Gone from factory Metzlers to Pirelli angel ST and finally to dual compound angel GTII on rear.
I have also gone through multiple iterations of suspension adjustments which ended up with a thinner fluid on the forks and running the fork legs all the way up in the triple trees. for the new year, I will be installing a zard exhaust and a new map by Beetle.
thanks,
Steak Godfather

That feature was set up by another member, I had nothing to do with it. It is apparent though that the provider of that particular service must have gone tits up a few years back.
I'm sure that there is a similar, free service out there if anyone feels the need to set it up again.

Thanks for the response Steak! no need to set anything up, was just wondering if the site already had something in place.
on another note, I have recently noticed fuel dripping out of the breather/ gas cap overflow tube. I parked it with a full tank and have noticed this happening when there are large temperature swings in the summer, so i figured it was just due to expansion in the hotter weather. This time was over the last couple of weeks of cooler winter weather. I'm guessing i am just parking it with too much fuel in the tank. Has anyone else experienced this?

There is no one showing on the east coast between Pennsylvania and Florida so it’s definitely not working and hasn’t been updated in years.

Chris, I have not experienced the fuel overflow draining but it sounds like you are filling it too much. Don’t know what else it would be. I keep mine on a wheel chock so it’s not on the side stand when it’s in my garage. It you fill it to the brim and then put it on the side stand, I could see a problem with that......

the fuel drip is odd as I leave mine upright in a chock too. I guess with the smallish tank capacity, I tend to get it as full as possible. will just monitor it for the time being as I can't imagine any other scenario that would cause fuel to come out of the overflow or breather beyond overfilling.
thanks John
and Thanks Paul for the Map link - I'll update it with my info if it will let me

Hey Chris,
I recently moved to Austin but left my GRiSO near the Asheville airport for weekend rides. I regularly attend the VA rally in the Meadows of Dan (6/25) and the Blue Ridge rally near Waynesville (usually 1st weekend in Aug.) and should make both this year. Lots of great folks from your area come to both of these, and even if you don't like camping there are great day rides to enjoy.
I'm 6'1" and went with the KD 1" lowering pegs, risers, and a custom seat. Makes life much better!
Anyway, Welcome!
George from SC (and now Austin TX)

George- you must be doing something right! Airplanes and motorcycles, I’m envious!! I ride the NC &VA mountains 1-2 times a year. Maybe it’ll work out that we can meet up
Cheers!

Sounds great. I'm from SC but AllegIant has a direct flight from Austin to Asheville every Friday and Monday. $100 round trip! I brought the EV to Texas and left the GRiSO there. Best of both worlds
