Hello,
I'm Holger from Bad Kreuznach, Germany.
My first motorcycle was a new Moto Guzzi V7 Special in 1972. After that I rode a V7 Sport, an 850T3 California. Later I switched to other motorcycles, Triumph Bonneville, Norton Commando, Fastback, Interstate, Roadster. Various motorcycles followed, including an Ural T-TWD is with me.
For half a year I was specifically looking for a Moto Guzzi GRiSO 1100 with a few kilometers.
Now I've found it: 2007 with 16,400 km.
I would like to come to Mandello del Lario for the 100th anniversary next year.
best regards Holger

Hello,
Thanks for the greetings
today made the first 150 km immediately after screwing on the license plate ...:
as designed for me ...
Seat position fits .... handlebars fit .... seat fits .... so upholstery is comfortable
The only question remains: how do I get the grin off my face again?
greeting
Holger

When I test rode a GRiSO, I came home and told my wife it was the first bike that ever made me laugh out loud inside my helmet. I still giggle like a school girl when riding a twisty road.

Today a question about the brakes.
I still have a Norton F1 Sport, Rotary ... with Brembo brakes.
It is certainly a little lighter ... than the GRiSO ...
Norton 229 kg to 240 kg Guzzi
but in comparison the brakes grip much more firmly ...
Both motorcycles have 320 mm disc brakes at the front
The braking ring area on the front brake disc is around 35 mm compared to around 38 mm on the Norton.
Does that alone make the difference? or are there better brake pads?
I once read about "red ones" ...
Can one of you write me something about it, possibly a link to the better rubbers?
greeting
Holger

There are better one Holger, though it really depends on what is in it right now, from the previous owner. Many of us have fitted EBC brake pads - try ebcbrakes.com - though I tried it just now and it was not loading - it is now so, "double H sintered pads" are the go.

EBC FA 244 HH are what we use pretty much exclusively. The FF suffix plates used by Guzzi May last forever but they give the feel of squeezing a brick!
If you want to go further changing the front master cylinder to a radial is well worth it if you aren't older than dirt and don't have arthritic knuckles from a lifetime on the tools.
Mark Salkeld and Beetle have both gone radial. More info from them.
