It seemed to happen at various times with various models on various parts. I'm sure I've posted up the horror pics of the 1200 Sport timing chest?

Well, the computer generated engineer says it's AOK. Seems they don't save old oil w/acid concentrations in it for testing. Why would they even think about it, that wastes valuable time.

Is this something I should be concerned about with my 2014? Wasn’t planning to have to drop the sump. I have almost 16K miles. Doesn’t need an oil change. Did that recently. Thank you. John

They had all the mechanical issues resolved by 2014 so had to think of something else that would cause unplanned woe.

Some serious forethought. They Knew some forum would suggest sump removal an made it fashionable inside. Next thread, what wax to use inside sump?

I know a guy who used to have a motorcycle shop. He had a reputation for building old Harleys that didn't leak. One of his tricks was painting the inside of the cases. If you have poor castings........

I used to paint my engine blocks with Glyptal, never had it flake off.
