| A Stelvio driver from the German guzzienduro.org forum is disassembling his engine for a complete revision after 275,000 km. The Stelvio was rollerized at 83,000 km. The engine got noisy, the culprit was the timing chain and its tensioner. Allmost no wear at the roller tappets, camshaft sprockets, etc. and no play at the valve stems. The whole engine is in a very good state, not much wear. The gearbox and universal joint are like new. The connecting rod bearings have to be replaced. | Doesn't surprise me. I've had engines apart at 150,000 and they were generally pretty good. I've found the valve margins take a pounding so we've thrown new valves in on high mileage donks and cam chains you'd do just because. | |

| Shit, makes me wish I paid more attention in German classes in high school and college. Impressive mileage for sure. Nice to know the engineering holds up! | |

| Look for threads from "willibaer". The Stelvio is from April 2008. | |

| 275000km, credit to MG and the owner for build quality and proper maintenance. Nice to know (thanks for posting Jan) just because my clutch groans a little when cold, that she is not gong to disintegrate!!
Proof that Guzzi build well engineered tough engines, | |

| Hold on! Is that mileage on the original clutch as well? If so, it's pretty impressive! | |

| Yikes, my original clutch is now approaching 140,000 km. Perhaps I should think about replacing it... | |
