| Hello, all. I'm Jose and am currently GRiSO-less here in Phoenix, AZ. I've been poking around the Ghetto for a couple of weeks now reading up on all things MG GRiSO. Cool community you have here.
I have my eye on a '14 GRiSO here in the basin of the scorching ball of fire (the popular euphemism is "Valley of the Sun") so I hope to join the GRiSO community shortly. This is my first new bike purchase from a dealer and I am wondering if there is usually any flexibility to be expected in pricing, service perks and/or accessories. The bike is currently priced below MSRP, which tells me they are a little flexible, but I'm not certain how hard to push.
Any negotiating tips or tricks to be shared?
Cheers! Jose | |

| I got mine in Tucson, paid MSRP, but doc fees were cheap and your dealer was not around. Once you do score on one, guzzi breakfast is on the first Sunday of the month, bell road and the 101 Denny's, 8 am. Then typically a bunch of us hit The Grotto up in Cavecreek. It would be really cool to get about eight of us GRiSO owners in one shot. I look forward to meeting you! | |

| It's getting close to end of the month, it's hot out side you might have some room on the fees. As Ron stated watch out Ridenow is like Goaz.com in that they tend to gouge on fees.
The rule in buying is if you get uncomfortable and it starts to feel like it's getting out of control with extended warranty and pre-paid service Bullshit and tire warranties... feel free to say it's not worth it and get up and start walking out. They will have a different offer by the time you get to your car. First set expectation if you are going in to buy. Let the sales guy know you have 1hr before a meeting if you are doing during the week or 1hr before you are suppose to meet your wife/ex/kids/parents. And Push them to get it done quickly which means less pressure on the extra crap. and remind them you have to leave in 20 minutes are we going to get this done before then? Things like that. You are the customer and it's your money and they need your business.
I bought my V7 in Tucson for retail but the fees were really reasonable. Sometimes they will sell you factory accessories discounted at time of sale. But don't do the Termi factory pipe as it has a Cat in it, but that's just my opinion.
The Grotto meet up is typically 7am Sunday's and sometimes I roll up on Saturdays. There are some other groups that also show like AZ Cafe Racers Meetup Group.
Welcome to the sickness of Guzzi

| Cool. Thanks for the welcome and the tips. I'll follow-up with the sales rep to let him know I expect to have the whole thing completed expeditiously. The wife and I actually do have a full weekend planned, so it won't be a stretch to say so. Although, if I stop by weekday an hour before closing, maybe they won't be so cavalier about dragging out the process.
I'm not big on pre-paying for services, so I'll kabosh those discussions pretty quickly. Other fees...we'll see what they come up with.
The Grotto meet sounds cool. Can't make it this weekend, but hopefully soon. It's a good 1-hr ride from home in Ahwatukee.
Cheers!
edit: The MG USA site lists the Termi pipe as not approved for street use in USA. I assume this is just a loudness issue? Or is it also a blanket statement due to some states' emissions controls?

| Desert Rat?? I had a brief glimmer of hope you were my neighbor but alas, you are six hours away from my desert. At least you know the Right Guzzi to get yourself.

| See if you can locate a 2013. I paid $11700 for mine in February... In any case, good luck. | |

Thanks for the tips and advice. Congratulations Jose, another Don Abbondio converted! Don't feel too bad if you didn't beat the dealer up as much as you could have. Instead, consider it as doing your part to keep a local Moto Guzzi dealer in business. Nobody gets rich selling Moto Guzzis, nobody...
