| Just a quick hello to everyone, Recently got my first GRiSO (1st Guzzi) after 37 years of riding. It's a 2008 1200 in black, goes very well, no paperwork to prove that its been rollerised so I'm assuming it hasn't been done but no undue noises, will check when I've a bit more time & look into getting it done. All good so far. Yorkshire UK. | |

| As is always the case just because it hasn't got the death rattles doesn't mean it isn't destroying itself. Don't ride it again until it's rollerised. | |

| Welcome - Mileage/noise/performance is no indication of tappet destruction & I thought it was running 'better than ever' at the point I found tappet clearances could take the entire feeler gauge stack (at which point suspect some just nip them up & put bike on ebay or trade it in)...... I'd check asap what tappets you are running as it's a 5 min job (one small allen bolt, plug lead off - long screwdriver lever in exhaust header, 4 cam cover bolts off, inspect & check). | |

| aj uk.... no paperwork to prove that its been rollerised so I'm assuming it hasn't been done.
No need to assume. Take a photograph of the top of a valve stem and post it up here. Easily determined. | |

| Thanks for the welcome, just had the cam cover off and as expected it's still on flat tappets. Will be getting it roller converted as I really like the bike, amazing amount of torque, handles & brakes well etc. Any ideas on which kit I will need, year 2008, A5 engine code, can't see any marks/dots on the cylinder head, also any recommendations on who does the conversion here in the UK would be appreciated. | |

| It's a 'C' kit bike but you can do it cheaper by buying a 'B' kit, shims, valve guide oil seals, inlet and exhaust gaskets and the two head gaskets you need. The 'C' kit contains all three thicknesses of gasket two of which you won't need. | |
