Just got back from 7 hours and 300 miles of fairly hard riding. Rode PA 125 - Which we call "The road of certain death" and includes the turn of certain death. Me on the GRiSO and my friend on his 2011 VFR. Spent most of the time leaned over at 4,000 RPM or better. Holy Shit what fun. I think me and the G have bonded. Need a Whiskey and a smoke now. Happy Fathers Day to all who it applies to.

I took the 2014 GRiSO 8v up to Flagstaff, AZ on Tuesday seeking cooler air. It was 98 degrees at 9:30 when we left the valley. My buddy rides a GS 1200, traffic was light so we flogged them up and down the mountain, 350 miles round trip. Actually the bikes are pretty well matched except for tires. The GRiSO was on rails in the corners and rock steady on the straights, checked my trip computer in Payson and I saw 107 MPH. I was truly amazed at an indicated 41MPG. Prior to Tuesday the best I could get was 37.5 MPG. Enjoy the weekend!

Damn! We have more GRiSO's in the Phoenix area than Carter has pills. Come October, when it cools down nicely we'll have to see how many GRiSO's we can get on a Flagstaff run. Smile

The last three years or so we've had to take furlough days so I've been taking one in mid-October on a Wednesday. Run up 17 to Camp Verde, 260 to 87, 87 to the Happy Jack turn off and follow that on into Flagstaff for lunch. Usually stop to smell the roses and take some pictures along the way.

Then it gets warm so I scoot down 17 to get home where there is AC. Smile

In November some endure riders meet in Death Valley for a romp and I think this year I should join them. Naturally the GRiSO is not my first choice for that ride. Smile

I've had to buy one oil pan already when it was holed in a mild jump off the curb (didn't look that high! but it was dark!).
