New member from Edmonton

Hello all!

Thanks for welcoming me into your community. I'm originally from Norway, but have lived in Edmonton, Alberta for 9+ years. Until this spring, I hadn't been on a bike since I moved. After many years of dreaming and waiting, a beautiful red 2007 GRiSO 1100 became mine a couple of weeks ago. In past times, I've ridden a motley crew of quirky and unusual bikes, including an Italjet Dragster and a two-stroke Jawa "chopper". But most of all, I remember the beautiful Moto Guzzi V65 that I could never get to run well. It caused me much frustration, but left an indelible impression and sowed the seeds of a life-long infatuation with the eagle from Mandello del Lario.

My GRiSO is mostly stock, with the exception of 1" lowered footpegs (I'm 6'4" with a 36" inseam) and the addition of a small luggage rack. I'm mostly eager to put miles on it, but will probably make some modifications down the line. Thinking about a new exhaust, and maybe a custom seat and bar risers to add a little more height.

I look forward to taking part and learning more about my GRiSO.

You're just down the street from fellow GRiSO rider Brock/Landman and I'm sure that he'd be happy to show you where the one curvy road is in town. And at 6'4" you two guys could be twins!

good to see another Alberta boy, and Edmonton to boot! I might need the back up, with all the BC folks and me shooting my mouth off about the Canucks...
The Edmonton crew gets together once a month on the first Thursday to go for a quick ride and coffee - and we usually try to get in Sunday breakfast ride now and then.

I take it you Edmonton boys only ride 4 months of the year. My sister lived there for a year and with daily max av. of about -10 I wouldn't even get out of bed.

In Brisbane, we wait for winter so we can ride in leather without sweating litres.
Its supposed to be winter here now, a little warmer than usual, shorts and T-shirt in the shed at 8am ................................. at 20C

I lived in Duluth for many years. Winter meant a nice break from killing bugs with my face. Once I got some winter hobbies like XC skiing it was something to look forward to. Like we had a choice about the weather. But riding in the fall was the best. Cool. Great colors, fantastic smells. I miss that part. A short season makes you appreciate the riding time you do get I think.

There is a Jostein from Norway (still there) I know over on an amateur astronomy site. Interesting!
