First GRiSO Foray of 2019

Following a Stornello romp on Thursday, it seemed right to take the GRiSO out yesterday for its first foray in 2019.

John Wells — who owns more Guzzis of all vintages than anyone I know — wanted to stretch his (new edition) Eldo’s legs, so we met in Cumberland, Md., about halfway from our homes for a day ride.

We had no route plan whatever, but chicken biscuits concentrated out minds and off we went.

The map -- in slideshow -- shows where; the other pix show what.

Will add that Bear Creek Road, between U.S. 219 and Friendsville, Md., was about as fine and fun a stretch of pavement I can recall. Nonexistent traffic, beautiful, and entertaining twists and turns every yard of its short 7-mile length.

Actually, I was. Wink

But that was not why he followed me home. In fact, he didn't.

After a brief return home after the morning leg, I had set the security system, walked back down to the Moto Grappa, and was getting ready to start Act II when my brother called.

We chatted and he interrupted to say that MY alarm company was on the other line! scratch

Hmmmmm.

About that time the deputy came into the garage, thinking, btw, I was a perp. Shocked

After we resolved that -- which, thankfully, did not require being cuffed & stuffed cheers

-- we had a great conversation about riding. He did know about Guzzis and enjoyed chatting about them.

Bill I envy your ability to takes so many photos while out riding, I'm lucky to get one or two! On a good day. I can still talk about it though. Nice story, both.
