Re-GRiSO'd
It's here. A 2009 GRiSO with only 5700 miles on the clock, shipped from Gateway BMW in St Louis. This is exactly like the first picture of a GRiSO that I ever saw, and seduced me on the spot. I can't help loving the alloy wheels and froufrou rotors more than the SE version. It started right up off the truck and seems in great condition, though it's got I little whine from the motor at idle, sort of like an old Harly coming to a stop. I just ordered a B kit from Cadre cycle, as I'm assuming that none of the essential tweeks have been done. I'll update as I get into it.

2009 will likely be a C kit bike so don't forget to order the other required bits.

Doug,
Glad to hear you're back on a GRiSO.
Where is the bike going to live ? I doubt it's Pataskala.
Do you have pictures ?

I meant to add this picture in the last post, so we'll see if it comes through this time. The bike will reside in Durham, NC where I hope the riding season will extend for another month or two. We can generally get in a good riding day almost any time of year with a sunny day and a warm jacket. I'm a little surprised that I'm having more trouble finding the ancillary bits than the B kit itself. It seemed a lot easier a few years ago. I can find gaskets OK, but I'd like to get a set of the later valve springs and just replace instead of shimming the originals. Who's the best US Guzzi supplier these days? I'll be looking for a new sump gasket as well. Fortunately, I've still got my service stand.
Doug

Doug, if AF1, who are the sort of 'Go To' for moderner stuff don't have them I have all of that stuff in stock. Shims, seals, gaskets, the lot. Until you get a head off you won't know what head gaskets you will need, most engines take the 0.85mm ones so I'd just buy a pair of them. If you find you need different I'll swap you a pair as I have dozens of the other sizes left over from warranty 'C' and 'D' kits.

I wouldn't bother with changing the springs, just use the shims, it's not like they are terrifically expensive and not using them won't really save you any time as the heads still have to come off.

Welcome to the fold.

You'll be able to ride all year in the Raleigh, Durham, Chapel Hill area - though the Jan/Feb riding might be restricted to just a handful of days above 45F if you're averse to cold weather riding.

Get your parts from AF1 in Texas. If something gets too complicated for your DIY skills, or you just don't want to wrench try Combustion Cycles. They did a great job with basic maintenance on my Aprilia.
