2017. They had it marked down over $4k and I couldn't resist any longer.

| Good-o. I asked due to the silver colour which was used in 2012 and '13 as well. If it was a left over '12 it might of needed rollerising. As it is you're in the clear. Do pull the swingarm and shock linkage for bearing greasing but other than that you should be good to go.

| Welcome sir. Excellent buy. Get yourself a Beetlemap and enjoy before the snow flies. The dealers here have both silver/black and red/black listed as 2017s. Seems like Guzzi just cleaned out the factory and called them 2017, regardless of color. All are marked down $3-4K off retail. Last chance to get a fresh one. So much bike for the money. If I could get away with it, I’d buy another to have as a spare. | |

The last of the 1200SE Grisos were manufactured in 2015. Some jockeying with VIN plates might imply a later model. I purchased the same 2015 model new in March 2017.

When I was at the factory for the '95'th they were still assembling them as they had crated up GRiSO motors next to the production line. I think they were close to the last though and the fact that there was obviously a final run of bikes in the 'Black Devil' paint scheme suggests more the using up of stocks of parts rather than any serious commitment to the model. | Here's my information source. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]The headlines refer to the Stelvio, but in the details it refers to all Guzzi 1200 motors. I've never understood why Guzzi dropped these motors without any replacement waiting in the wings. It's like they're doing their damness to go tits up. Surely a bit of tweaking, perhaps having to replace the ECU with the later 7SM version was all that was required. But wot do I know?

| Air Injection. The 1400 is essentially just a big bore version of the 1200. Later 1400's have air injection to increase O2 in the zorst. It's basically cheating. I don't know what the cost to add it to the exhaust ports, but I expect it could have been done easily to the 1200. ABS requirements meant the Stelvio and Norge may have lived on. More so the Stelvio. I recall reading somewhere the Norge wasn't selling well anyway. I'm inclined to think that it wasn't a technical reason.
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

| Welcome to the OP! I also recently bought a 2017 Black Devil GRiSO!
My bike has all sorts of "2017" labels and paperwork related to it. So certainly not like it is a 2015 that sat around in Italy for 2 years. But who knows, maybe Luigi just pulled off 2015 stickers, put on 2017 stickers, and redid Manufacture's Certificate of Origin paperwork. Or maybe they made and collected all the pieces/parts in 2015 and just bolted them together in 2017. Who knows.

| VIN number should give it away, the tenth digit will indicate year of manufacturer. Mine is an "F" indicating manufactured in 2015, if yours is a 2017 it will have a "H" for a tenth digit. | |

I have H as the 10th digit on mine. It says manufactured in December of 2016

Knowing Guzzi, they probably use a different calendar to the rest of the world. That's why it's hard to get parts in August.
