Welp I did it.
Left Boston rode 3,765 miles and ended up in San Diego. 9 days of riding 17 states. My exhaust header bolt sheared off in West Virginia, but other than that no issues with the GRiSO. She took the Vegas 117 Degrees F like a champ and kept going.
Averaged 42 mpg I’m sure there are better bikes to tour on, but I don’t have them, so GRiSO will have to do!
I’ll post some pics soon whenever I remember how to do it in the forum lol

You can't tour on a GRiSO. Just ask the experts..........

What an epic journey! I've always loved the GRiSO as a tourer. I put 50k on my first one including several multi-thousand-mile trips. What's your plan for the return route?

Looks like you got to sample a bit of US50. I know it well. Been coast/coast on it twice, and it runs through our farm.
Thanks for sharing.

Great accomplishment!! And here I was thinking I was a badass for riding from El Paso to Hartford in 4 days. Lol I’m such an amateur! I love touring on the GRiSO!

sorry for the late replies took me a few days of stretching to get back to normal. Morning motorcycle yoga helped me stay flexible. Did a Boston > Denver > Seattle > LA trip a few years back, but broke that into 3 weeks. wanted to say I did coast to coast non stop.. and I did.
Ended up shipping the bike back using Motoshippers.com unfortunately that was the bulk of my riding last year I only put a few hundred more miles on.

After being in San Diego all last Summer with my son who is now in college there, and reading your post, and missing the GRiSO I left garaged in Connecticut, I did the unthinkable. Found a relatively cheap R1150GS and rode it back to CT, visiting family along the way. SD—>Phoenix—> Alberquerque —> Denver —> Cheyenne —> Sioux Falls and then through upstate NY back to Hartford. 6 days, 4k miles. I missed my Goose and would have rather made the trip with her but I couldn’t resist the coast-coast (although I didn’t go all the way to Boston!). Now I just have to find a tail rack for Sprucey and we’ll be in business!
