| Well today I bought a Cali14 wreck so I can stick the motor into my shitstain Stelvio! We know how much fun a 1400 is in a GRiSO. Now let’s see what it does in a Stelvio? Because everybody really needs a 1400cc dirt bike! Pete | |

| Is this for digging trenches, or going off-road, Pete? | |

| It’s because it will be fun and, quite simply, it will be fun. Really, that’s it. OK, there’s also a bit of buttock parting and farting in the face of Piaggio and their desire to render Guzzi a footnote in motorbike history but really I’m doing it because I, (Well Michael and I and I suspect Mark who is equally odd!) just enjoy doing this sort or warped, slightly bonkers stuff that nobody else in their right mind wants to do. My Stelvio is NOT a ‘Dirt’ bike. It’s a very competent ‘All Roads’ tourer. The sort of motorbike equivalent of a Subaru Outback! It will be used next year for me to ride around Oz and virtually every weekend Jude and I go for a ride around the dirt roads near home. The extra torque isn’t needed but it will be quite good fun and the motor is a lot younger than the poor old 124,000km, twice flat tappeted, shitter that’s in it at the moment. Oh, and their is the matter of bragging rights and the fact I’ll need to push my wedding tackle around in a supermarket shopping trolley because it will make me so enviably manly Pete | |

| If anybody asks, why would you put a 1400 in it, tell them, because they don't make a 1500. | |

| I always tell people who ask such questions that I have a tiny willy. It usually gives me time to escape. | |

| Same recipe as Mark’s. I’ll swap the heads for a set of modified single spark 1200 heads. Using the Cali 14 block should make things a bit easier.
