So you really are lucky it didn't take the exhaust valves out; and my comment doesn't apply Wink

quite the episode , have not been on G ghetto for a while and saw this in April newsletter .... impressive detective work .... and huge , big support from forum experts as usual !!! what a great bunch , eh ? ... plus a happy ending .... too cool .... which reminds me , I shoveled 8" of snow this morning just to get into shed .... unusual for around here .... last year I was riding GRiSO at this time .... great story , and thanks for keeping me in loop with the Newsletter

Just to put a cap on this escapade..
I've only just got around to fitting the rollerisation kit supplied by Pete.
Seeing as I had to remove the heads to do it, I thought I'd check the valves anyway.
The two inlets on the side that failed are very slighly bent - so yes they must have at least touched the piston at the time the cam drive pin came out. Not bent enough to stop spring pressure from sealing them, but bent enough to see light through the ports without spring pressure.
So as soon as my new valves arrive, she'll be all done and good to go.

Pete is THE MAN cheers

I posted these up in another thread but they indicate how very lucky you were!

All valves were bent as well as the errrr? 'Obvious' damage.

This is a 2012 factory roller Norge and both flinger plates were lined up with the 'ole over the pin!
