| As Spring gradually approaches here on Canada's East coast , the wood fire is still on daily but warmer conditions are on the way .... I am getting ready for another ride season .... I got two questions : 1. will the addition of a Corbin seat give me more , much needed leg room ? ... if so approximately how much ? 2. since I will prolly get a Corbin I have choice of colour , and am interested in opinions of a saddle type colour for my new seat similar to what is seen on the new Indians .... my GRiSO is Black .... comments please
thanks to anyone who takes the time to read and answer my post ! Craig

| If I recall correctly, it adds about 20mm of height. If leg room is an issue, why not get lowered footpegs?
As for colour, black is the only colour.

| thanks Beetle .... yes , I have the Knight Designs lowering pegs and they do help , more leg room would still be an improvement , especially when not interfering with lean angle .... yup bike is Black , do you think a tan leather seat might look good on it , the black Indians look kinda cool with the tan/saddle leather seats .... | I personally wouldn't, but it's your bike. If you like the look, go for it!

| I will receive my black Corbin seat tomorrow, after a month since they didn't have any GRiSO seat pans and had to make one.
You can go on their website and design a seat using different materials and colors.
I did one close to the Tenni brown and since I am color blind I asked a good female friend of mine what she thought. I got the black leather LOL

In about 1000mi it will feel really good Thanks, my problem now is I can't get the seat off. It is like the pin on the back of the seat is too large for the release mechanism. I hope I can go through the bottom of the rear fender and get to it. Anybody got any ideas? Thanks

| Press down on the rear of the seat as you turn the key and then yank it up firmly. | |

| Well looks like production angled the locking pin to the rear instead of straight. I had to get a screwdriver and pry the seat off. Then by trial and error I realized the problem and was able to tap the locking pin forward so when it seats it is straight into the hole. Now I can take the seat off like it should be.
Thanks for the recommendations.

| Looks great Jerry! When I received my Corbin it was too tight and would cock to one side. I added a washer under the locking pin and that solved the issue. | |

| Bob, while on one level I agree you can't expect a mob, even a big mob like Corbin, to have examples of every model of bike they make seats for available for test fitting every time.
On the seat itself? I love mine on the GRiSO and am really looking forward to picking up the one I bought for the Stelvio, (Which broke down yesterday! Shock-Horror!) which is currently gathering dust in Bill's Garagemahalo in Winchester where we hope to pick it up this Northern summer. I just can't get comfy on the Stelvio seat. Anything over two hours and my arse starts screaming!

| Thanks for the comments , and also the photos Jerry posted , got my wife to have a look and she say stay with the black ..... so black it shall be .... the prices here in Canada are very high , several years ago (7) I paid a small fortune for the Corbin on my Commando , but I like it way better than the stock seat .... I wish the stock seat on GRiSO had just a bit more level seating area , so I will turn to Corbin again ....the closest supplier is in Ontario and they just give you the "at your door" price so you don't have to fuss over the shipping, taxes and duty costs , just the one big number .... Craig I will note that the Corbin seat has even less pillion room than the stock seat. If your wife is going to ride with you on the GRiSO you may want to keep that in mind. No problem for me as I have other bikes to ride when carrying a passenger, but if the GRiSO is your only ride the Corbin effectively makes it a monoposto... | |

| Yes , I do have other bikes , a 72 Commando with corbin gunfighter saddle and a Ducati ST3s with a DP saddle , all for a single rider ..... my wife is a musician now ( retired teacher ) and has no interest in getting on a bike with me , in fact she cringes when she has to travel with me on 4 wheels ..... so we have a strong lasting relationship going on 40yrs in June ..... she got her music room , I got the bike shed ....last year she in Costa Rica for 16 days .... when she got back I rode across Canada in similar amount of time and got back in time to plant vegie garden .... My wife rides her own bike so it isn't a problem for us. | |
