| Watch. It'll end up being a Dorsoduro motor turned sideways. Hmmmm. If you look at this Dorso 900, you can see the V85 is getting the Aprilia instrument, the one sided shock, red trellis frame, high front fender etc. etc.. [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] | |

| The Dorsoduro is water cooled. Isn't it? So unless Guzzi PR got it wrong.... New high revving 8V small block in a Dorsoduro chassis. | I'm thinking it will be a sort of hybridization between the brands. Maybe air cooled with that sweet DOHC head. It looks like a lot of cross pollination between the Dorso 900 and the new V85 anyway. Isn't Piaggio/Aprilia doing the design work now for Guzzi anyway? If the rumors are true that the new motor will have 5 valves, wouldn't it be easier to accomplish with a DOHC set up?
The 900 Dorso motor makes 95hp. Maybe an aircooled version would be around 80 hp.
I can't believe that no one has any information on the new motor. How tight can that factory be? I can't believe that there hasn't been any "sneak peeks" by the factory as a teaser.

| Dunno about five valves. At least one of them would need a sub-rocker if it's a DOHC set up.
I think they'll get the extra power by carving the injectors out of unicorn ivory and making the loom out of plaited mermaid pubic hair.........

| Guys, I think the engine presented in Milano is just a mock-up for to show the enduro vehicle. The main target for MG is to observe the market interest.
This engine is soo far away from Euro 5a requirements as could be. According to informations from a German motorcycle magazine, the serial intruduction is planned for 2021 (ceremony 100 years of Moto Guzzi).
The engine will for sure be designet to fullfil Euro 5a, which clearly means 4 valves (otherwise the power drop due to the stringent emission limits would be too much) and partially watercooled.
We have to wait a couple of years without a replacement for the gap between V7/9 and 1400. I am very proud to own one of the last GRiSO's, sold in Europe. That's what I want to have!!!

| At EICMA, they said the bike would be in showrooms in September.
I think what was mentioned at the show was that the full line of bikes that were going to be developed around this new motor, and that they wanted to have the rest before the 100 year anniversary.

| Well, this is starting to look like the final version. Love the color. Sounds like the engine is going to be a little same old, same old, but that's actually okay with me. As a dual sport type bike, as long as the torque is there and in the right spots, it should be fun to ride. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| I really couldn’t give the smallest of shits about it’s styling.
What I want it to be is innovative, exciting and capable. From what I’ve seen so far it is none of the above.
As I’ve said elsewhere I hope I’m wrong but I fear that there is a lot of lying and a lot of Piaggio “Smoke and Mirrors” type spin regarding the V85. Roller tappets and Ti valves will not, miraculously, make this an 80HP motorbike. Nor will it make it light to compensate for its power deficiency.
Does this mean it won’t be a fun machine? No. Not necessarily, but it will be crucified in the press and will sell like stale rat sandwiches.
I’ll buy one when it’s got four more valves and hi-cams, (Or an alternative.). Until then? Colour me skeptical.

| - I thought R-GS were the ugliest bikes, not any more - Fundamental rule: Aprilia will not loose even one customer to Guzzi - Piaggio treats Guzzi better than another member of the group, Laverda | |
