| Went for a ride on Sunday with a mate through the hills, on our way homer over Mt Tomewin I've came into a corner down shifted as usual and hit a false neutral (maybe real), pulled the clutch in put it gear and then all fuck brokr loose the back end locked up an the next minute I'm on the deck with 3 cracked vertebra, dislocated shoulder and a host of other knocks and scraps. Now in Gold Coast hospital for at least 2 weeks flat on my back | |

| While I have on a couple of occasions managed to miss a gear the 'Nuovo Six Speed' seems to be essentially bulletproof. A true 'False Neutral' is very hard to achieve due to the 'Star Cam' selector mechanism. If it does turn out your crash was gearbox related I'd love to get a look at it. As you may know I love gearboxes far more than I really enjoy engines which is probably a bit weird and pervy but well, that's life.

| Stephen,
Heal up well and quickly, then back in the saddle before the winter sets in. Don't fear the reaper...
Sorry about the get-off.

| I haven't seen the bike so really have no idea of the extent of the damage and at the moment don't really care, as I've had a bit of time to think about what has happened
I think that when I've changed down going into the corner I've shifted it into neutral, then realising that I had no power I've shifted down again into first, that's why it's locked up (no slipper clutch) so I don't think it was anything wrong with the bike mechanically just a dumbarse error on my part

| How long do the docs say before you can go riding again? And will the bike be ready before you are? | |

Can attest move around, can only take it day by day at the moment On the plus side, at least you guys are entering your winter season... No bikes on the road to recovery, but after that the roads get twisty again and the GRiSO will beckon. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special

| Very few places in Oz where you can't ride year round Steve. It gets bloody cold where I am, (-8*C is not uncommon in July and August in the early morning.) but when its that cold it is also invariably clear and dry. Thermal undies and I now, in my dotage, a heated jacket and gloves mean even in those temperatures riding is fun. Slightly lower tyre pressures and letting them warm up well is the order of the day but other than that its 'Business as usual'!

| Hah! I dumped my GRiSO today too! We were screwing around in the dirt for a couple of hours and having a blast. Then I had a brain fart and grabbed too much front brake when I was surprised after cresting a hill. Low speed, no real damage save for a busted front right turn signal and some light scuffing on the valve cover and windscreen. More embarrassing than anything. As much as I was fucking around like a kid on a dirt bike, I should have stuffed it a dozen times before I lost it in a little loose gravel...
