| Has anyone experienced the warning triangle flashing at high rps. I took her out this afternoon after finally finishing the turn signal conversion, and once I pass 6500 rps in 2nd, or 3rd, or 4th (don't know about 1st, but would assume the same), the warning light began to flicker.....and the more about the 6500 mark, the faster the light pulsates.........Didn't take up to 8000....pretty much backed off at about 7200 to 7500. No other issues and oil is new and good. Still under 5k miles. Thanks for any input and thanks for the help on the LED conversion | |

| So the previous owner/s never changed it! Good grief I couldn't live with it winking away at me all the time, it'd drive me spare! Do you still also get the 'Do not forget to insert your user code' message when you turn the ignition on too? The flashing triangle is the gear change indicator, that's all. You can elevate the point at which it starts flashing by going into the 'Menu' portion of the dash. I think it's on the main page but it might be under 'Diagnostics'. If the latter you'll need the diagnostics code 12425 to enter to allow acces to the next page. Anyhow find the 'Gear change indicator' in the drop down and hold the button down. The tachometer needle will sweep to 6,500. Then using quick presses of the button you can raise the needle position in 200rpm increments until you get to where you want it, (7,800-8,000 works for me!) then hold the button down. The needle will then drop down to zero again and the new change point indicator reading is saved to the dash. Retreat out of the menu. Job done. Next time you ride no more stupid light until just before it starts going 'Blurp-Blurp-Blurp'! Pete | |

| Someone has set the rpm warning at 6500 on your bike. It's only an indicator of when to change up a gear. You can go into the dash settings and change it to whatever you like. I have mine set at 7500. It doesn't affect how. He bike runs , twist and go Sorry Pete | |

| I actually prefer the lower 6500 rpm limit. Helps me remember to change a gear before the rev limiter is hit. It does actually take a little bit of time to change gear, and I'm a bit slow. | |

| I never actually *look* for it because if I'm accelerating hard enough to need to be warned visually it's about to start 'Blurping' there is no bloody way I'm going to be gurning at the dashboard!
I have mine set at 7,800 I think and the ECU goes 'Blurp' at 8.5 I think but as I said when it does go 'Blurp' I'm more likely to be looking for somewhere to change my undies than seeing if there is a flashing light telling me I'm stupid!
Having said that, as those who have ridden with me will attest, I ride like the grandfather of the oldest man in the world!

| I had no idea that was why the thing kept coming on. I just ignore it. | |

| I'd suggest a slightly lower rev limit on the 1400. | |

| Thanks! That was what I thought it might be, and I bet it was I who reset the rev warning at the lower mark after disconnecting the battery for cleaning and the signal work . Being an old fart......slow reactions and all, I will just leave it for now. | |
