| This happens when I ride my 13 GRiSO in hot conditions: A long slow up hill charity ride on a hot day or stuck in traffic for a 1/2 hour on a hot day after powering down the freeway. When I pull into a parking place within a few seconds of stopping, while the engine is idling, my oil light turns on. Its solidly on, not flickering, I tried a quick blip of the throttle before shutdown but it stays solidly on. The engine is running no longer than 5 seconds before shut down, but no noises, just ticking over as always. This last time I also got the oil can on the LCD display. When I let the bike sit for a 1/2 hour and check the oil its always at the correct level. Bike starts normally and runs fine for the rest of the day with no oil light appearing. I assume (my favorite diagnostic tool) that I may have a bad oil pressure sensor. I can't think of a reason for losing oil pressure at idle when I had it all the rest of the time. No shortage of oil. I do keep the level at halfway between full and low so not to suck up oil into the airbox What say you? This only happens on a hot day with a bit of slow going. The engine is hot and I assume (again!) that when I stop the residual engine heat increases (no air cooling). Is it pushing the sensor over the edge or is my oil goofy? Or was 2013 an unlucky year for Grisos? | |

| A replacement pressure switch is cheap peace of mind. If it happens again, then you should be worried. | |

| Worried most of the time anyway. A new switch would be one less thing, also when it really fails its an oily mess!

| Also if the switch doesn't fix it do a bit of research on blown block to sump spacer gaskets. It's not common but it does occur. | |

| Yep, I agree with Pete^^^^^^. Just replaced said gasket...and my bike is a 2013 as well. Between the sensor and gasket, there's the culprit. | |

| Does anyone know of a write up on how to replace the gasket? | |

| It's all pretty straightforward. Remove the sump, 14 bolts around the outside and 4 in the oil filter cavity, then once that is off remove the cooling oil pick up and the four bolts that hold the spacer in place. You might need to remove the side stand too but I don't think so. The spacer then comes off and you can replace the gasket and reassemble. | |

| The side stand has three bolts...one on the block and two on the spacer. Those two need to come off but to get to it, you have the remove the left exhaust pipe (real easy). You also need to remove the two lower oil cooler bolts...they're secured on the spacer as well.

| Do these gaskets require 3 Bond or some other sealant? or do they go on dry? | |

| Dry. Assuming the mating surfaces are pristine, which they should be... | |

| Thanks! Putting goop on the underside of the engine doesn't sound fun. | |
