Yep, I thought Uzidit was smoking some good grass (no offense) when he said that using the frame mid section hole could damage the chrome ring...
Well it won't happen on the G11 and early G12 but my 13 has no built in washer to prevent crushing said ring.

So beware when using a metal rod through the frame on the new bike... can't do it!

Yes, this is true. Pete and I were talking about this when on our ride last week. The 2VPC 1100s are good to go, the 1200 SE would surely be vulnerable to damage, and I'm not sure about the 8V 1200 non-SE models.

My 09 was set up like the 07.
I will weld a washer like the earlier bikes so I can use the damn frame for lifting. Too convenient...
