| Hot today. Other than that, it was a pretty good ride to Kandos, where in bedding down for the night. Great fun between Bathurst and Kandos! A few twisties and lots of sweepers. It rained a couple of times, and I welcomed it. Temps at mostly around 35C, and occasionally down to a refreshing 32. The light cooled things off until the sun came out. Steamy! When I got into Kandos, I went straight to the servo for petroleum. As I did a right into the driveways, I promptly crashed. Went down like a bag of shit. This poxy thing caused it. It's the USB outlet. I didn't bother plugging the phone in when I left Bathurst. It got jammed between the triple clamp and the tank bezel. No turny bars. Fall down. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Scratched the valve cover. Again. Scratched the oil cooler cover. Again. Bent the rear brake lever. Again. Scratched the CARC. Again. Broke the right hand mirror. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| It might have smelled my injuries and was thinking about eating my corpse later. Left knee swollen and painful. Right elbow bruised and scratched, right shoulder smarting. | I'm thinking the cat smelled whiskey. Recommend you mark the levels on your bottles. Cats are annoyingly smart. Condolences on the smack-down. Are you not setting a record of some sort? Bill | |

| Beware the dangling gee-gaw... I swapped out the useless cigarette lighter port on the Stelvio dash with a much more useful unit. | Shit Mark. It's the low speed that does it, I'm overly cautious on the stelvio when going slow . We all just need to go faster. | |

| Bill, I think you may be onto something. Puss could detect the sweet aroma of whiskey. I think that's number 7 for the GRiSO. About to head to Rylstone for breakfast. Then the Bylong Way. No crashing today. | Yesterday. Breakfast at Rylstone. Cafe on Louee does great Egg & Bacon rolls. And the coffee is fantastic. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I didn't get far out of Rylstone before oil started pissing out of the RH valve cover. I had to stop to see what was happening. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Checked the gasket was OK. Cleaned up as much oil as I could and reassembled. Still got a slow ooze. I'll need to closely inspect the valve cover. The scenery was better. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Then I was on my way, heading to Jerry's Plains. Except I missed the turn onto the Golden Highway and ended up in Muswellbrook. A quick stop for fuel, then I was off. I arrived at the Crowne Plaza Resort at 1230. Pretty much the whole ride, my nostrils were filled with the delicate aroma of decaying marsupials. Some interesting cloud formations last night: [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Today. Got away about 0630. Alert for live marsupials. Fuel stop at Jerry's Plains. A bloke on BMW GS something pulled in. I gave him a nod, but he averted his eyes. How rude! Arrived back in Rylstone about 0830. Stopped for petroleum and also another excellent Egg & Bacon Roll. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Next stop was Cowra. The wind was terrible and and when I arrived home at 1430, I was buggered. The whole way back was a struggle. Might have had something to do with the eleventy glasses of Shiraz I had last night. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Oh yeah. The Bylong Way. The road surface is really bad for quite a lot if it, especially in the fun bits. Too rough for really spirited riding. The Universe is agin me. All the really rough bits are always at the apex of a bend. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Sorry to hear about your troubles. Next time you head up that way try the back road from Eglinton (Nth Bathurst) to Turondale via Duramana thence to Sofala. Sensational and a pretty good surface most of the way. | |
