| As promised I cut the fuel line to get the tank off. Mr. Cam Conklin supplied me with a part from Beemer Boneyard that he acquired for his Vintage but it is far too big. Can someone point me toward an F.I. quick disconnect that will work with the GRiSO hoses? TIA

| Use the original Quick disconnect fitting, get some high pressure Fuel injection hose from your auto parts store and a couple of small hose clamps. carefully cut the hard plastic hose off the fittings at each end and replace with the rubber hose. I made mine a fair bit longer to make tank removal a lot easier Oh, this has been working fine for the last 4 years or so. cheap to replace too. | |

| I installed same as Ron on my Bellagio, but this is now the reserve method for tank removal.
Standard technique is quick and easy: Lift tank and disconnect electrical connectors. 1) Fuel pump. 2) Fuel level. Turn ignition "ON" Press the start button.
This removes all pressure in the fuel line and now the quick connector works as designed. |

| Hi All For the second time the fuel hose has come off the pump on my 1100. The first time the dealer fixed it but this time I will give it a go. I've read up on the de-pressurising of the system and the fragile plastic elbow. I am having a lot of problems finding a hose to DIN 73379-E or SAE J30R10. Especially as I'm not sure of the id. I think its 6mm but I'm not sure.
I was going to dismantle the tank to measure the pipe but I've been told that leaving the pump assembly base gasket for a couple of days renders it useless so I need to get the parts sorted and to hand first. I have ordered the Guzzi re-call kit but that will take 8 weeks!!
So, anyone know of a stockist of the right hose in the UK? And the id of the hose? Thanks

| I ended up cutting the line and putting in a quick disconnect. The one I used was plastic and rated to 125 psi. The way-cooler metal ones are rated to 250 psi. It's a tight fit onto the stock lines. I used a little heat to soften them and put on a standard hose clamp. Thats what I've done to mine, some years ago. No problem since... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| Martin,
The fuel hose inside the tank has an internal diameter is 8mm (5/16")
I have used a submersible fuel line hose called Cohline 2190.
It's the same spec as SAE R10. I fitted it to my 1100 in 2013 and so far its been fine. The internal diameter is 7.3mm, but it will fit an 8mm outlet.
You can buy it from ebay UK Link

| Thank you all for your replies. I don't know where I read that it was 6mm id but clearly it or I was wrong. 8mm it is.
AVGPETRO, did you re-position the existing "concertina" bendy black pipe to go between the pump and filter or was it a new pipe?

I just rearanged the existing parts - note, the flow through the filter is now downward, instead of upward that was originaly when the filter was placed on top of the pump.

| I use Gates 5/16" SAE 30R10. Available here downunder in a 12" length from Repco (need 7" for the filter-pump - 6" is too tight a bend), but a 1 m length of the same hose from "autoparts wholesalers" on-line is about the same price and they sell a range of clamps as well. Should be available your side of the pond - I just googled "SAE 30R10".
That concertina hose seems to be more robust, and I haven't SEEN any degradation in any of the pumps (half a dozen or so) I've examined. Have a spare, but still unused. That rubber gasket for the pump plate seems fine after years in the air - I was given a spare which came from a V7R tank replacement & it still seems fine. My new metal tank on the V7C is wearing a pump & gasket from a Nevada which had been out of the tank for several months & there's been no leaks so far.
I'd still like to get hold of a better QD - metal preferred. I'll try again to track down some of that hose, thanks Ron.

| PS. Note that V7 pump is a little different from the GRiSO - [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |
