| Sorry guys. Bolt on capacity increase was easy with the pushrod bikes, up to a point.
The point comes when the stud pattern limits bore size and the con rods hitting the cam lobes limits stroke. The *1200* cc format, although it is in fact smaller, is the effective limit that the old engine can be taken to.
The Hi-Cam has the advantage that the dummy shaft that takes the cam drive from the front to the back of the engine has no lobes on enabling a slightly longer stroke, (I think?) but as important is the widening of the stud pattern and different construction of the overall top end meaning capacity can be increased.
FWIW a greater swept volume is very unlikely to make much more top end. What it will hopefully do is increase torque, especially with good cylinder fill, appreciably.

Or was that just a WOFTAM? What? The capacity increase? Yup. You can use a 1200 crank etc. in your case but there *Might* be issues with the rod bolts kissing the filter, (Use a smaller, lower, filter.). The other thing would be needing an adapter for the end of the crank to fit the Ducati alternator but that's been done before. Pete

Hey, does that include Bella? Or was that just a WOFTAM? Engineers I used to work with were always trying to incorporate WOFTHAM into the first seven paragraphs of all their reports and sneak it past management. i.e. While our competitors enjoy ... Originally used in our model xyz .. Focus is on the ... Technological advancements allow .. Also relevant ... Mass manufacturing techniques allow ..

[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] Damned exhaust is on backwards. The article says the Tonti frame is still in production. News to me.

| Radical Guzzi (Stefan Bronold) uses old Tonti frames. So he had only to fullfill the old emission standards and it is possible to approve the bikes here in Germany.

| By the way, this may be a stupid question, but with the exhaust facing forward like that, wouldn't there be some kind of conflict between the exhaust trying to exit and cool air trying to enter at the same time? And wouldn't that affect performance somehow? | I'm more concerned with the torque of that 1400 twisting that crappy Tonti frame like wet spaghetti. Or twisting that old bevel box to shreds. And don't get me started on unfiltered carb-u-wreckers. . --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

Kinda dumb set up for sure...as far as obstruction flow, nahhh...the pressure coming out of those pipes is much greater than cutting through ambient air. Even rain wouldn't be a problem...

| Ever consider the exhaust pipe angles of top fuel dragsters. They are angled upwards to create down force and rearward for obvious reasons. If they lose a cylinder half track the imbalance of "thrust" can cause the car to veer to one side.
I think the 1400 is a few thousand horsepower short of a reverse gear. |

| I have seen a mob in Italy offering the 1400cc mod to a GRiSO. I enquired which parts they keep and which they replace. Barrel and pistons the rest is stock See pics attached Link to company CLICKY [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] | |

| To add. I sent the makers of the Oversize barrel and piston kit an email about pricing.
I was quoted € 2000 for the kit fitted including parts. They didn't supply a parts only Guarschi Moto
