Adding a USB port

I'd like to tap into the GPS power port that Guzzi has provided to supply power to a USB port(s) to supply power to a smart phone.

Can you guys recommend any particular product over others?

I have installed a bluetooth OBD2 module, added an app to the phone so I can monitor engine temps (this winter I'm looking at controlling the air flow to the oil cooler and having a way to monitor engine temps will be nice).

I'll probably use the phone as a GPS at some point too. By the way, I'm using the phone as a mini-tablet - it does not have cell service nor do I, at this point anyway, plan on activating it. Although I could if my main phone crapped out.

Which app did you add? Id like to get a thermometer dipstick but you cant read them while on the bike.

Thinking about adding Tune ECU; but it does not seem to have temps front and center. And I'm not sure it will read the Guzzi ECU.

This is what I use. Does what it says on the box.

MotoPlug USB with SAE waterproof connector.

I snipped the ends of the battery lead and connected it to the GPS supply. It's only on when the engine is running.

That looks like the same connector as for a Battery Tender pigtail. Excellent idea.
