| Riding to work yesterday morning (5.30am) and got a surprise by being pulled up for a RBT at Wards River. It was the local coppers from Gloucester and they were stopping everyone in each direction, not that there was much traffic at that time of the day. Turns out Dungog coppers were on the other side of Stroud doing the same thing. The local boys have been told that due to a sharp rise in accidents on the Bucketts Way lately they have to pick up their game. They were being pretty lenient - they got a couple of blokes from work speeding but let them off with a warning. They did hint that the Highway Patrol would be taking an even greater interest in the Bucketts Way and they wouldn't be showing much leniency. Anyway, short message is to take care on the Bucketts Way, especially given that much of it is 80 or90 km/h. Coppers I spoke to said this will be going on for quite a while. | |

| It's an excellent an excellent road Bill. Feel a bit spoilt living along it. Never had a good riding road so convenient. | |

| Thanx for the heads up. Bloody coppers ruining, nay, trying to ruin a bit of common sense road use. Ive noticed that in places where Mr Plod is overactive the end result is motorists too busy watching their speedos and not whats goin on around them. I like the Bucketts Way , far better than it used to be. The Bride and I went for a ride to Gloucester Sunday. Another road where they have vastly improved the road surface and lowered the speed limit. On the way home I forgot about the metric speed limit. The 1200 goes better at 90 MPH than 90 KMH. | |

Matt Has there been a lot of road improvements on the Bucketts Way over the past year or so? I used to ride this road a few times a year heading up to or back from a loop of Thunderbolts Way and the Oxley Highway but for mine Bucketts road surface was poor condition. | |

| Still till plenty of average sections but slowly getting better. Still a good loop doing Thunderbolts and the Oxley. As Charlie said, problem seems to be that they fix the road surface and then lower the speed limit. | |
