| Hi all.
I went out for a ride today as the roller rockers are now in and all done as well as back to the original factory pipe and Beetles roller map. Bike runs really well and I'm enjoying it greatly. Thanks Pete and Beetle for all your posts and advice etc.
Here's the thing. Was riding around the back of the lake today and the engine just stopped. Definitely electrical, no hesitation just stopped. Pulled over and pushed the start button and nothing. Removed the key and put it back and away it went. Rode another 50 km or so no problem and stopped for fuel. Bike would not start again. Dash lights were all good but bike would not wind over at all. Removed key and put back and off it went again no problem. Got home and it did it again.
Has the key got a battery in it for the proximity chip and if so could this be the problem. Any ideas please let me know.
Cheers Mark

| There's an immobiliser aerial for the key security. Likely suspect. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| It's up near the ignition key switch. Check the wiring first. I don't know whether you can get at it by removing the wings or the tank. If it is the aerial, it's a bugger to get at because you have to remove switch which is held on by security screws. I think Pete called it a 'right frontbottom' of a job. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| I found the screws holding mine were quite loose and easily removed with a pair of multigrip pliers. The aerial is a ring sleeve that fits around the ignition switch Assembly, a wire runs from this to the instrument dash housing and plugs into the inside of the dash. I still have one in pieces and can get pics if needed | |

| Sorry.
I haven't tried yet. I was saying thanks for the offer. Did you have the same problem or did you take the ignition out for another reason.
