So.
I got the work transfer and an apartment in Van Nuys.
Then I bought a house back up in the desert.
Well,
I finally picked up the 1100 California Titanium this past Sunday.
It has the Mac mufflers and it sounds GOOD.
So what I did was....
Trailer the GRiSO down to Van Nuys and trailer the Titanium up to Hesperia.

I can now commute up and down the 405 on the GRiSO.
And meet any LA or Valley dwellers for rides after 330pm.

But it's weekends up in the desert to ride the Titanium.

A 2003 California Special Sport Aluminium (Valvole Idraulische) was my first Guzzi. I had a lot of fun on that bike. Rode it up to Hyder, Alaska then across BC to Jasper and on down to Banff in Alberta before making my way back to Seattle.

It was a fun bike in the twisties. Those were the best Californias to my mind, the Aluminium and the Titanium. Drag bars and foot pegs, not those goofy buckhorns and floorboards that were on so many of the Californias...

The Stone wasn't bad either, but I'll concede it would have been better with the drag bars. When I got the new (used) one earlier this year with plans to put the sidecar on it, I rode it around for several weeks without the side hack and had forgotten how much I enjoyed that California. Not a replacement for my beloved GRiSO, but a worthy bike on its own merits.

Dual life? So you're a laid-back cruiser on the Cali, and a certified yahoo on the GRiSO?
