Ok, I see where you latched on to the word "gripe" and overlooked the word "Gremlin". As a newcommer, being objective is perhaps too easy for me. When I do searches on anyting I'm considering buying, I search "problems with ________(you fill in the blank)"
Just wanting to be informed and not surprised by common issues and recalls, etc.
I admire those of you that have mechanical experience, paired with common logic and skills I do not possess. I understand that living in the Outback or Wild West or wherever you need to know how to be self sufficiant. BRAVO for you. I live in proximity to many dealers and indy mechanics, Los Angeles. I change oil, plugs, socks, that's about it.
If you don't think novice riders would bennefit from such a forum section named "GRiSO Gremlins" than so be it. Your court, your rules.

Canyon, I understand where you're coming from and I understand those guys as well...
What they want to avoid is the whining and bitching (not saying you're part of it) that is so commonly found in other Forums and pollute the atmosphere really.
We bought Italian bikes for fuck sake!!!   Gremlins and such, come with the territory.
Mr. Roper may seem harsh to some at times but he's right none the less.
I have to give it to Uzidits (sp?) though, he seems to have had the worst luck with Guzzi and he's still among us contributing.  

Lastly, none of us are having a man to man conversation with one another due to typing so the translation gets lost sometimes.

Since I don't really know anyone in person I don't have any ammo to give anyone a bad time about so the only person for me to razz is - myself!!

Look, its not that people want to belittle you or anybody else, really. The problem is that if you go to somewhere like WG which used to be an interesting place it now seems to be full of people whose 'ginas don't just need a small rinse to get the sand out, you'd need a 24/7 full on dredging operation to even begin to make a dent! That had sort of crept up on me as I visit every day but most of the people there who I used to enjoy interacting with have gone. Presumably driven off by the whinging!

As for 'Gremlins'? There really are very few and the only major ones I can think of are the Mandello Grease Phobia and the failed tappet issue. The first is really pretty easily addressed and the latter requires an understanding of what causes it and a willingness to address the issue.

For anything else? Just ask! If someone knows the answer or can help they'll pipe up.

Certainly there *are* lemons out there! Look at Uzidzit's Stelvio with its dodgy clutch! But really they are few and far between in my experience and build quality is streets ahead of where it was a decade ago!

So don't get paranoid, nobody's having a go at you. Unless you want them too! Just ask! I'll be happy to tear you an extra arsehole if you want one!
