| Well, Went to Petes today with a very unhappy GRiSO, For a while we have been trying to unfuck the throttle bodies that the dealership I'd bought it from attempted to pre deliver. So I bit the bullet ,Pete had a set there that hadn't had the sacred screw molested so I arrived at 9.30 am and had the tank off throttle bodies off new bodies on and bike together. He then ducked home to pick up something he forgot and had the bike re mapped and bodies adjusted. The bike was running beautiful. Then went to Petes home for a coffee and chat over the bill. Fuck me it had just gone past 12.30 And my bike was the best it had run in three years. Pete escorted me out of town on his green horror mk 2.
So thanks to Pete for your hard work and patience, also thanks to beetle man for arduous mapping work.

| Chasing the gremlins in bikes who's throttle bodies have been fucked with is a.) Thankless and b.) usually unsuccessfull. If the two kids has only played with the LH sacred screw it is usually recoverable. If both of them have been mollested? It's much worse.
Ralf's had been given the whole treatment!
What a fuck-up.

| I've been having quite a bit of trouble recently with the hc-06 dongle. Random disconnects have increased to 100% now with every logging run. The fix is a bit random too, quite often requiring either a reboot of the android device, re-pairing of the hc-06, or both, and rebooting the hc-06. It's been driving me nuts. I don't know whether it's the hc-06 itself, bad connections or electrical noise, or even the Scan M5 app. I've rewired the setup twice now and added strain relief to the power connections. The serial connections seem quite solid, but I added strain relief to them as well. I have a spare hc-06 dongle, but in a 'fit of frustration', I bought an LM-2. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]I've lost too much time and wasted too much fuel buggering about with with dongles and Scan M5x, and since I'm in the middle of updating the factory can map, and have to build at least three Agostini maps, I can't be bothered trying to get that combo to work consistently. I tried going back to feeding the LC-2 into the ECU, but as the logging rate is painfully slow by comparison, you get a lot less data per run. I've decided the data is no less accurate, but the lower number of data points gives you a greater deviation, which leads to less accuracy. That means more runs to get a good map. Net result? No more logging runs until the LM-2 gets here. Hopefully by the end of the week. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Beetle Vs. LM-2 I set up the LM-2 today. Although these things are OBD2 compliant, they can't be used with the 5AM. Guzzi use their own proprietary version, so one is required to use the analogue inputs to capture RPM, TPS and engine temperature. The analogue inputs are dumb. That is, they'll measure a 0-5V input. You are required to configure them to convert that voltage into something meaningful. RPM is easy, it has a dedicated input for that. TPS requires you to measure the max and min voltage at closed and WOT and then build a lookup table. Same for engine temp sensor. I was also going to add the intake temp as well,  butts  it took several hours to get the thing working I couldn't be arsed. The kit came with a LSU 4.9 sensor, but it was DOA. Spent some time troubleshooting that issue, before giving up and using the LSU 4.2 from the LC-2. I will be chatting to the supplier about that. Next, access the sensors. TPS, easy. Engine temp sensor and intake sensor, tank off. Well, up. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]After a couple hours connecting the sensors and configuring the lookup tables..... [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] ..add several choice four letter expletives... It works! Back to the LM-2. It's a dud. The AFR reading locks up after a few seconds and requires a power cycle to fix. Also, during recording, the device itself locks up and requires a power cycle to fix. Grrr.

| When paying for a tool one expects it to do what it says on the box. If this device is a crock of shit? Get it back to the purveyor and your money back. Don't rant, just be firm. That usually works.
As for another bike? It makes a lot of sense. Jude would never ride with me on the GRiSO but loves the Mana when conditions are right. Find something that makes it a 'Family' affair.

Sending it back. Grrr. Mark do you think the unit you were supplied with is just a dud or the LM2 datalogger matched with the LC2 controller is not a good combination for the GRiSO hardware / firmware ? Is it possible the hardware "upstream" of the new LM2 is responsible for the failures ? The reason I ask is that WHEN I actually do bite the bullet and rollerize my bike, the new map you developed for the "uncorked" Termi will need an upgrade to suit. Now that I've got a better idea of the exhaust valve size - thank you Pete - the Termi exit diameter can also be reduced so there are a number of variables suggesting a further map amendment at some stage.

| I'm certain it's a dud. The LC-2 is not a factor here. I only mentioned it because I had to use the sensor supplied with it, as the new sensor (supplied with the LM-2) was DOA. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Thanks, Megaphone looks good, any experience with it? When you compare it with Mistral (I think you prefer it). It's easier for me to buy Agostini here in Europe and look good. | |
