| This heat might. Or the Missus.
I'll be doing a 'mail out' for all existing map users soonest. I can't be arsed won't be able to determine who has roller bikes or not, so you all get the new map. Please don't install it if you are still running flat tappets. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Thanks for that. FWIW I have the Mistral Hi-Pipe/dbk map in my recently re-motored shitheap and if I was willing to use the term it would be 'Awesome' but since I hate the overuse of superlatives to describe anything more than mediocre I'll just describe it as 'Fucking Fantastic' instead. As we keep saying though, there is no 'Magic Bullet'. Remapping won't in and of itself turn a poor running shitter into a two wheeled 'Pillar of Virtue'. The engine has to be mechanically healthy and it has to be tuned properly. What shits me, and I'd guess Mark too, is that a lot of folks think that simply by downloading Guzzidiag and a new map they are going to get a bike that runs superbly. IT's NOT GOING TO HAPPENWhile the Guzzi 8V is, by current standards, a remarkably simple device it does have its idiocyncracies and ANY motor has to be tuned and serviced correctly to do its job. Recent idiocy on the Corn Cob Pipe board has made both of us pull the pin. The idea that small intake areas are part of a plot to make bikes meet emissions regulations, FI 'Works like Carbs' and an endless procession of not just people who are Luddites but who seemingly celebrate their unwillingness to not just learn but also THINK just makes things untenable! I really feel like I'm trying to clean out the Augean Stables on this and I'm just the middleman! What is the drug thing? "Just say No!" Really, to fucktards and people who want to rape your wallet for shit! Pete | |

| Tagged onto this thread because I can't post new msgs again!
I've currently got a G11 in the shop. It's owner thought it was very noisy, it had been thus since he had bought it, (He's the second owner.) anyway I found the cam sprocket nut was loose and caught it just in time. As I pointed out he'd done exactly the right thing. Another handful of kms and the locator pin would of fallen out. That wouldn't of been fun!
Anyway. Said machine has a Staintune can on. He's been running it without the db killer installed but is sending it down to me. I don't think Mark has anything directly applicable to the S'toon but if anybody has a map of the 'Universal' type that can be tried with a generic can with dbk I could try I'd appreciate it if you could flip it my way.
I'm not sure I have the 1100 maps in my database so Mark, if you read this, could you flick what you have my way.
Thanks
Pete | |

| I've hit a snag. I was going to do the first run with the Agostini today, but I can't get the inlet pipe to fit my pretzel. I spread the flare as much as I dare, but it will not go on. No how, no way. The extension pipe to make it a Hi-Ago will also not fit my pretzel. Curiouser and curiouser. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| Mark, I'll bung the one off the wreck in a box and get it off tomorrow. It may or may not fit but it's worth a try.

| Bugga. The pipe extension was a snug fit, mayhap I didnt allow enough for clamp deformation. As for the muffler not fitting, well maybe deformation or I've used Ago X inlet pipe with Ago long which is on my bike. Sorry for fuckin it up. Do you want me to send down the dolly used to expand the pipe extension and the muffler inlet pipe off my bike. Again most humble of apologies. | |

| Excellent! This is one of the great things I like about this little collective. We all bumble along like one of those poorly made battery powered toys from my youth that just goes in a straight line until it bumps into something and then changes direction and repeats the cycle! We try and nut stuff out and periodically a tiny, 5 watt light goes on and we change direction! Sometimes there are even the occasional flashes of brilliance, usually fuelled by brainstorming and beer!
The important thing is nobody has 'The Answer', (And it isn't 42!). There is no oracle. All we can do is share knowledge and experience and, well, fuck? Sometimes good shit happens!

| Ahh the sober light of day....Mark I will send the dolly to you this morning when the Post Office opens. As I said earlier Ive got the Ago reverse cone mounted on my bike, however in 3 weeks time we are off on our Annual week long ride. This year we go North. Do you think that if I send the other bits they would be back here before then or do you want me to hold off, what ever suits you best. | |
