Poor running new GRiSO

New, left over 2013 GRiSO. From day one it has not run correctly, IMHO.

Took it back and they 'fixed' it. Got it home and was the same.

Took it back and they said the test ride showed it to be running normally.

Took demo GRiSO out as a comparison and it ran the same. Like crap.

Best description is a hesitation or stumble. Not a real miss as such. No backfiring. Enough of a presumably fuelling hiccup to make you take your weight on your arms. All rpms, all gears. I can hear it running it up in neutral to 4k, tried to show that to them - response was - you shouldn't do that.

Coming up on 600 miles so I'm going to have them do the first service and if that doesn't change anything, try a new tune.

I've had three other guys ride it with the same result - 'that can't be right'. Total of 160 years of riding experience agree on that, at least.

Any ideas would be appreciated. Do have new plugs and caps for after the 600 mile service.

Hard to say from your description but it doesn't sound right to me. You can check the plug caps easily but taking the lead covers off and starting the motor then look and listen for the spark snapping to earth.

After the 600 service grab an Allen key and check that both of the air bleeds aren't open. If they aren't? Find another shop.

What did they "fix"? For what it's worth, some dealers do not do a TB balance as a part of the 600mi service. It makes no sense, but there it is. This is a pretty basic first step to start troubleshooting an issue.

The strange thing is the demo bike running exactly the same. It is at the same shop but .....

Find another shop. I suspect they set both up the same, ie badly.

A stock GRiSO can hunt below 4000 RPM, but it's hardly as you describe. Dollars to donuts the throttle bodies need balancing and more than likely both air bleeds are open.

This just suggests they have a gap in their setup procedures.  They're making the same mistake over and over; such as not doing a TB balance.
