Warning Light Question.

The warning light in the top right corner of my instrument panel blinks consistently, It only does this when the bike is off sitting in my garage. No key or anything in the ignition. I'm a new owner and I find it strange I couldn't find anything regarding it in the owners manual.

It's the security ignition lock-out.

This also comes in very handy when weaving your way back to your campsite at a rally, just dodge the flashing dots.

So what exactly is it good for? (next to act as guide-light after dark, and perhaps scaring away motorbike-thieves)
