| Had an odd thing happen last nite on my way home. I got off the freeway and made a turn onto the street and came to a stoplight, the engine dropped down to 2,000 RPMs and stayed there. I revved it up a bit but it wouldn't go below 2K. I nudged it into neutral and it dropped down to the 1,200 standard idle. Rode all the way home and it didn't happen again. This is a bike with about 2,500 miles on it, running Beetle's latest stock FU map. Any ideas what this is? Bike has been running great, only slightly rough when its cold, soon as it warms up its fine.
Something to worry about or just keep an eye on it? | |

| How long have you been running Beetle's map? Did you reset learning parameters and/or adjust the CO trim? I had this happen with after the stock remap, but it disappeared after I made those adjustments. | |

| Running the new map for about a month. Reset the TPS and learning curve when I installed it. Then tweaked the CO and reset TPS and learning curve at each adjustment. Bumped the CO to +8 from original setting of zero, too rich, dropped it down to -4 and left it there. Bike has a very slight hesitation off of idle but great all the way up from there. Getting 40MPG. | |

| Hung idle can mean either a bit lean or stupid rich. It's unlikely to be the latter, so maybe set CO back zero. GRiSO likes it a smidgen on the rich side. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- ..[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.].In GRiSO we trust! . | |

| I presume beetle map is running in open loop. If that's the case, it seems a bit odd that would occur. It would also be odd if the idle speed motor was playing up with hardly any mileage. I've had it happen on a few occasions also coming off the freeway. The revs would eventually come down but if raced from the lights it would ping. This seems to indicate that during part throttle cruise it trims it self lean and/or running a bit hot. Bike completely standard. Now that I've got the ago back on, I can't wait to at least switch off the lambda. I might even disconnect it in the meantime.
Question for Pete or anyone that knows. Is the idle governed by the stepper motor or set in the throttle body and simply compensated by the stepper?

| Idle is stepper controlled. Do NOT try to adjust the idle stop. | |

| I wasn't going to touch it. I was wondering if the base idle i set at the throttle body or purely governed by the stepper? I'm guessing that the stepper simply compensates for variation in idle speed because it's fairly slow. Would that be correct? Suppose, one way to find out, without having technical info, is to isolate the idle motor and observe what happens. | |

| I've had the idle hang in a couple of occasions. Usually in colder weather at the first roundabout in Queanbeyan so the engine would be barely up to temperature. It only seems to do it once, it doesn't cause other problems so? Meh? I don't worry about it.

| Please connect Guzzidiag, and see if the clutch signal comes in ok, on the right side in the value display, you should be able to see if it is in or out. | |
