Anyway seeing as I'm going to be doing a complete strip and rebuild of an 8V to the last nut and bolt in the next couple of weeks I thought I'd better buy a few of the special tools I *might* need. I already have most of the vital ones and a good few of the non-vital ones but there are a couple of new ones associated with the roller top end I felt I should have. Apart from anything else having the correct tools invariably makes the job a lot easier, I like that!
Thing is I priced them up through the importer here and just as an example the cam positioning tool is priced to me at $254AU! It retails for $390! Having picked myself up off the floor and given them a rousing 'Bronx Cheer' I hopped over to the AF1 site and punched in the numbers for the parts I wanted, four tools, the cam tool, the cam bolt centering tool, the idler shaft locking tool and the piston circlip instalation tool. The whole lot, including $50 freight, only came to $313!
Stupid!
