| Well, many of you will no doubt be happy to hear that I have returned from my self imposed exile from this most excellent Forum. As for the rest of you, I promise to stay within the boundaries of polite conversation in the future and look forward to actually burying the hatchet, a typically American term of art. Anyway I had some pretty bad shoulder pain after several 200 mile rides on the GRiSO. I damaged my shoulder years ago in a rapid descent exercise about 45 years ago and it has ached since then. I had a set of Pro Taper Travis Pastrana bars on my dual sport a while ago and loved them, so I ordered a set last week, supposed to be here today. Height was not an issue rather I was looking for about an inch more pullback, hopefully this will work. Ride report to follow. | |

| Welcome back, hope your shoulder gets better and tell me more about getting 40mpg on a GRiSO because I'm getting 30! | |

| If you're only getting 30mpg there is something amiss. Have you made any changes to the bike?

| The last two rides my readout said my mpg was 42.5 and 40.0. I ride a lot slower now than when I had my VFR. However I still flog the GRiSO regularly. I know Arizona gas is pretty crappy, consequently I add an ounce or two of ethanol booster, seems to help. Right now I am running stock mapping, a Mistral carbon pipe completely intact. Once the GRiSO got to 4,000 miles performance and mileage got better. | |

| Welcome once more. I have the Pro Taper Travis Pastrana on my 1100. They are a welcome relief from the wide stockers on the 1100. I also narrowed mine up to the max. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]They vibrate a little more (meh!), the end weight mounting will require modification. I tried an aftermarket bar end, vibrated more, clutch and brake lever protrusion fugly. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Hope this helps. | |

| richo, I like the way the Pastrana bars look on your bike, very compact. I figured that the bar ends would require some imaginative solution. I never thought about increased vibration, maybe some lead shot? Anyway I spent the weekend riding around on the BMW and the Pro Tapers are still in their box. I will probably put them on this week. Thank you for posting your photos, really does help. | |
