Just got my December issue of Cycle World. On page 51, the article, "Heart-strings Attached," is a semi-shootout between the Indian Scout, the BMW R Nine T, the Honda CB1100 Deluxe, and the GRiSO 8V SE.
Agreed, a strange collection of dissimilar bikes, but what the reviewers were after, rather than just performance numbers, was that elusive ability to "speak to" the rider. Performance for sure, but aesthetics, comfort and "riding pleasure" as well. As they put it, "Which would we most want to park in our garage to ride, live with and polish? Which one tugs at our heart-strings the hardest and makes us want to disappear onto the open road?"
They liked all four bikes for what they are: inhabitants of very distinct niches, competent in their own way. But, overall, a majority of the reviewers who rode all four came away liking the GRiSO the best!
No surprise there, eh? But it's nice to have our love of this amazing machine justified!

There is a guy on apriliaforum that mentioned how he rode a GRiSO when he worked at an Aprilia dealer in Melbourne. He said of the GRiSO - "probably the nicest bike ever". True Dat.

I heard a rumor they were going the cancel the GRiSO next year. That true? Anyway, maybe more of this will change their minds.

Doubt that all of our swooning over our bikes will save it. Start stockpiling your spares.

I meant the magazine article, which might perhaps increase interest and sales, etc. My swooning they already have.

No need to stockpile spares. European legislation requires that spares be produced for a minimum of ten years after the end of production. There are also plenty in the wreckers.

Yep, I'm gonna ride mine into the ground. Me, not the bike, so I expect in 20 years it'll be made up from bits from a dozen different GRiSO's.

Just got the Cycle World issue in the mail today, the only bike mag I get. With it's shrinking size, I wonder how long it can be published. Perhaps MG wil start to advertise now.
I was out on Saturday and several folks came up to comment on my Teni GRiSO. Happens all the time and I like it!

The Tenni deserves the looks. The colour is distinctive, never mind the bike itself, with spoked wheels.
Stop it, now I have to go out and have a ride

Somebody needs to go post this video on all the R Nine T forums! Call me evil, but I'm giddy thinking about all those sad little fellas with Bavarian buyer's remorse!

Yes sir, great stuff. I'm going to combine this with the other threads on the topic.
Can't hear too much about the good press!

I wanted the CB all along, bought the GRiSO Tenni when it came out when it looked like Honda was not going to import the CB to the US.
Then they did.
After a spell I decided to get the CB; figured the GRiSO would be surplus and sell it. Turns out they are two completely different beasts (more like the beauty and the beast); she stays!
Always thought the XR650L would be my last bike standing, but I think the GRiSO is that bike (perhaps a Moto Guzzi if not the GRiSO). Still not sure why the GRiSO is picked for these odd comparisons and not the Bonneville or Royal Enfield; true retro machines. Even the V7.

By the way... The cycleworld article mention a top speed of 133mph for the GRiSO. Hum, I had 145mph indicated on my 09 with room to push that further. I had my 2013 indicated 140mph with potential for more as well and I regretted not having my GPS that day. I need to go to a track bigger than Jennings to see where the bike taps out... How much does the odometer cheats at those speed I wonder...
