| It's been a bastard of a week culminating with the enormous shit-storm that this buggered Stelvio I'm stuck with is turning into. On Teusday I have to go in to find out if I've got something seriously amiss with my insides and I can't eat for the next couple of days followed by a day of heavy duty laxatives!
I'm so over it it isn't funny! I'm going to fire up the big green torpedo and go for a ride. The sun is out and the roads are beckoning!

[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]When I got back to Bungendore my fuel light came on. I'd filled up in Queanbeyan on the way out and from full to 'light on' which is within a bee's dick of 12.5 litres got me 227.5km! No, I wasn't riding hard, just bimbling and sniffing the roses but that's pretty nice economy. Pete | |

| Enjoyed the pics Pete. last time I rode through Wee Jasper was on my Shiver travelling south to Melbourne and over to Tasmania in 2011 - met quite a few sheep (4 legged kind) on the road back then. | |

| Nice pix, Pete. Beeyooteeful countryside. We won't see that sort of weather again until late next April. Such rides do clear one's head; good for you for "self-medicating.  Have to ask about that first pic. What are the two mounts/gizmos ... at left and center of bars? And, surely that isn't rust on the left one!?   Bill | |

| Bill, the gizmo on the left bar is the controller for the crappy Oxford heated grips. They're pretty ordinary but they're better than nothing. The central thing is a mount for my phone but I only ever use it if I'm using it as a GPS.
As I've said before it gets bloody cold here in winter, what with arthritis in joints, especially my hands, becoming an issue in winter heated grips and a Gerbings heated jacket and gloves are my bestest friends from about April to September!

| Great pics - not jealous at all. I've never had heated grips and from what you and others are saying, I think I am going to just sort a connection and go for heated gloves instead.

| Be careful with the heated gloves. My Gerbings have hot spots just where the crease of your hand meets the fingers, and you can get burns from them. I just use a plaster from the first aid kit where it happens. | |

| All went well actually. Surprisingly hassle free and painless. Turns out I have a beautiful, gleaming bowel with nothing serious wrong with it. They knocked off a couple of polyps and found a small lesion which was the source of the bleeding, sorted that and I'm now good to go. Golly I was hungry by the end of it! Pete | |
