Maybe mounting it upside down is what your hinting at? That could solve issue

I filled the back of the connector blocks with Vaseline to stop water coming down the cables but Tinker still found green rot in one connector 12 months later.
The other route for H2O is past the soft blue seals. I suspect that was what happened on mine as those seals were beginning to split in a few places and I couldn't source new ones.

I found that the factory gasket was torn on that side during first ECU, but can't confirm, may have hamfisted it myself not knowing upon disassembly. I have messages to Pete and Mark via email to resolve heat issue if there is one.

I don't know how much heat is generated by the electronics, but the complete ECU is 80% heatsink. Everything that matters is in that black plastic bit, which is filled with resin. Given where it's mounted on other models, I don't think it needs air rushing over it to keep it cool.
If water is getting in via the cables, your only option is to mount it upside down.
