Have been mining the forum for spark-plug details before a total tune up and Beetle base map. Can someone double check my facts before I start on the plugs. Think I've got this right...
2016 1200 8v only has 1 spark plug per cylinder (no inner plug like on 1100)?
There are choices when it comes to which sparkplug to use:
NGK CR8EKB which are dual electrode Nickel, not platinum, and function as well as the more expensive platinum PMR8B?
Or I could go with NGK CR8EIX (4218) which are Iridium?
Does anyone have an opinion based on their experience for which of these have a more stable gap/longer life? Don't care about relative cost over 20,000+ km.
Thanks. BMR.
