Hello,[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

I ask in the round, maybe there are GRiSO drivers with similar experiences?

The exhaust center part is a problem area....

the holder of it was already welded at 20,000km because it was torn.

Now I see a stress crack again at the front retaining plate of the holder.

Also, under the trim, in front of the rear mount of that trim, the tube is cracked almost all the way around.

Welding is one possibility.

The part is no longer available new.

Now I have found an alternative, own intermediate part from Agostini.

So the two manifolds go into the middle part, which then runs straight...not like the snake of the original.

Have any of you installed it? Do you know the cracks like on my exhaust part?

Greetings

Holger

The Agostini, or any of the other 'Straight' mid pipes will rob the bike of bottom end and midrange and cause a morass of mapping issues. The wreck I just bought and am refurbishing has such a POS and I've luckily found someone who is willing to swap their pretzel for it along with the PCV+AT I'm also binning so I can make my bike run properly.

The usual reason pretzels break is because the muffler is in sufficiently supported.

The Agostini thing is useless. You will lose all your low and midrange torque.

Get the Arrow midpipe. It has some bends in it.

Good morning,

because of your experiences, so I ask. THANKS.

The original "snake" center exhaust is attached yes also on top, where it is torn 2x with me.
The Agostini has no attachment at all.

I drive the Zard exhaust.
How should and can I fix the more stable?

What would you do now?

The original weld again?

and how differently or additionally fasten?

Greetings
Holger

Holger,
You can go to: [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] website and you can search for a dealer in Germany and call them.

hello, I think I will have the series pretzel welded again first.

The Arrow also convinces me more than the Agostini, because the snake guide certainly has a reason, resonance body.

What surprises me that these two, so Arrow and Agostini, do not have a holder.

The series pretzel has yes the holder with the rubber bearing.

Maybe I get me the Arrow for safety in reserve.

The Arrow part # is 71474MI.

If you search for "Arrow GRiSO" you will get many results, especially on eBay.

The Arrow does have a bracket or "holder". I use one on my GRiSO.

Hello beetle, thanks for the photos.

Now I'm a little irritated: in the photos of Arrow you can not see the welded holder. Was this so on it? Is the holder always on the Arrow 71474MI ?

My next question:
I have mounted a Zard exhaust.
It sits on the stock pretzel exhaust center section.

So my Zard should also fit on the Arrow part?
Because both are described to fit on the stock parts.

In your photo you have but rear to the muffler still 2 holders with the springs... was that your extra work?

Yes, the Arrow is made to replace the pretzel, and the inlets and outlet are exactly where the stock headers and silencer attach.

Yes, I got the spring loops added myself.

Here is a pic from a seller in Luxembourg which shows the mounting hardware that comes with the Arrow.

The original silencer is mounted at two points (about 4cm apart) so the silencer is not free to pivot and load the pretzel up and down - this may be the reason why some crack ??

Good morning beetle, thank you, with your information you have helped me a lot.
Now I just need to find an Arrow.

yesterday I have already written to a few dealers, the first replied only: that Arrow has also ceased production.
His ad was deleted after my request.

I continue to search.

Greetings

Hello Holger
I know that problem very well.
On my Griso1100 the exhaust manifold had already ruptured twice.
After I had welded it the second time, I went to investigate the cause.
It is essential to ensure that the entire system of manifold, exhaust manifold, exhaust manifold attachment
and muffler is mounted without any tension.
If you guarantee that, there will be no cracks anymore.

Thank you.

I was very lucky. My Guzzi dealer was looking for a spare part for another customer. He happened to find an original pretzel! He called me immediately. So I could still cancel the Arrow.
Yes, he took off the entire exhaust system and mounted everything stress-free.
Luck and a very good dealer you also have to have.

Greetings
Holger
