Greetings from the PNW Empty
PostSubject: Greetings from the PNW   Greetings from the PNW Icon_minitime1Fri Apr 08, 2022 11:05 am

Howdy, all. I was bored a few weeks ago, and unexpectedly stumbled upon the GRiSO magic.

I've mostly moved all of my riding offroad, trials specifically. Having not ridden my Triumph 800XC but a few times over the last several years, I decided it was time to part ways.

While perusing the ads to get an idea of value, this beauty jumped out at me.

And, a seed was planted. While the extended road and ADV riding on the Triumph had been replaced with my trials passion, there are some lovely back roads where I live in the Pacific Northwest. I thought perhaps, my slab days might continue - but with a bike better suited to more relaxing twisties and day rides. I knew of Moto Guzzis, generally - but was pretty ignorant to the details, and knew nothing of the various models. I stumbled upon this fine forum while doing some research, liked what I saw and reached out to the owner.

To both of our surprise, neither of us was extremely motivated to part ways with our respective bikes. And, when he heard of my plans to sell the 800XC - like me, he thought a change of pace might be better than an outright sale. The two bikes were close enough in value, both in excellent shape with low miles - so we agreed to a straight up trade. First time I've ever done that in 50+ years of bike ownership, and it worked out great for both of us. We met up, swapped rides for about 10 minutes, and with mutual grins - we swapped titles and parted ways on different bikes than we arrived on.

Let the fun begin.

Where are you in the Great PNW? There are many of us ghetto dwellers in the area.

Best kind of trade...we both thought we got the better end of the deal!

I'm on the Olympic Peninsula. I probably won't venture too far to the east routinely, but if you find yourself out this way - drop me a note!

Congrats with your new bike. It looks like a well-kept and/or lightly used motorcycle. Welcome to this forum!

Welcome to the Ghetto, Syspig! Been all over the Peninsula over the years, spend Thanksgiving at La Push every year, often with my first GRiSO, but more recently with the sidecar rig. I'll keep an eye out for my current GRiSO's twin next time I'm out that way.

I wouldn't come this way either!

When I was living in Seattle, just like Pete, did a lot of riding out on the peninsula. I think we had about a ten or twelve year stretch of riding out to Neah Bay on New Year's Day irrespective of the weather. Some of them were pretty interesting... And thank goodness for heated grips and gear!

I've had a PC-V w/Autotune for sale at a huge discount here in the classifieds for over 5 years. Funny, not a single inquiry...
