Hi Ed, and welcome to the Ghetto
You said, ‘you’re in the race for a GRiSO’. Do you mean you’re stalking or in an auction? Good luck with your purchase, and as with all Italians do your homework, knowledge is power.
Looking forward to your good news and pics
Ciao, Bob

Most important question? Has it been rollerised? If the tappets are failing it will effect idle, especially when cold.
Secondly, check the throttlebodies carefully for signs of them having been adjusted by an 'Expert'.

Make sure you understand how the W5AM system works before touching the throttlebodies. If someone has moved the linkage rod or throttle stop screws you are in trouble. Check that both drain hoses off the air box are attached and capped.

Congratulations with your new bike and welcome to the forum. I am looking forward to the pictures - black is the fastest colour!
(but I don't think the "Black Devil" livery existed yet in 2009... )

At first it was a Tenni. He bought a black devil. He interchanged the Tenni with the Black Devil. He just wanted to take his Tenni color with him. Let´s wait and see what tomorrow bring.
In the Netherlands there are several Guzzi dealers. in such a small country!

Wait..what? Alarm bells are ringing. Why would you get your flat tappet model rollerised, then buy a later model and swap all the Tenni bits over? Something odd here.

GuzziDiag -> Actors -> TPS Reset -> OK
One thing I'd say in addition to this is if when you connect Guzzidiag the TPS is more than a fraction of a degree off where it should be, (4.6 on 2V motors, 4.8 on 8V's.) don't re-set it with out further investigation as you may well find someone has screwed around with the throttlestop screw. If they have and you reset the TPS you open up a world of pain.

Moto Guzzi confirmed that its rollorized and started its life as a Tenni.
Well de rest is history. Can anyone look in the mind of a GRiSO rider. I can buy a BMW R ninet wich is maybe a smarter choice, but i won´t. Because ME is Ed

No. Guzzi confirmed there were no outstanding recalls. This has nothing to do with whether the engine is rollerised or not.
Fucking Hell. Are we still doing this? Even now? The engine hasn't been made for five years and we're still seeing this bullshit?

same grin, same colour!! I just got back from a short winter ride for an hour. I had my idle rose when it and random no start when it warmed up, these guys are amazing with their help, if it wasn't for everyone here I likely would have sold the bike! This forum is invaluable, read read read everything, then ask your questions. Welcome Deepdive!!!
