| Right. So am out for a more proper ride, meditating on the mysteries of Guzzi, and how, if you squeeze the living shit out of 'em, some clouds have silver linings. Unless that's mercury, which means it's a potent neurotoxin. I have only gone half a mile on the sort-of-country roads around my home. The roads are narrow two lanes pretty much through the woods, with some houses, fields, drives. The mailman is up ahead, in the opposing lane, and a $150K Benz is passing it, in my lane. That's fine, but I'm foolishly fixated on it, when BAM, a freakin deer bolts from the spinach to my left. Missed it by a RMH. I'll get mine. "Urban Archery" season starts...Monday? And I am not bad with a bow. Anyway, the bike is transformed. Still not happy on a steady throttle, still a little rough, agree on the TPS and TB's. Gotta buy the stuff to do it. Guzzidiag is the bigger prob as there is not a single PC in the house. Noticed the red triangle flashing at high revs/loads. Mean anything? And now it's leaking oil from the LH head... Oh, and I'm smelling raw gas at stops. | |

Noticed the red triangle flashing at high revs/loads. Mean anything? If what you are saying here is that you are a Mac or Linux household, then no worries. Guzzidiag works great on either platform. Red Triangle at high revs is just a visual warning that you are nearing the rev limiter. You can adjust the "warning trigger" rev level in the dash computer. Either way, it's a simple annoyance at worst. --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- --- [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]2012 MOTO GUZZI GRiSO 1200SE2013 MOTO GUZZI STELVIO 1200NTX - Orange Blossom Special

| A. Ah. Dumbass thought Guzzidiag was PC-only. B. Ah. Dumbass seemed to remember folks encountering the flickering red triangle in association with other electrical/ignition problems.
So. Thoughts on the plugs?
And what other predictable fffups should I be thinking about fixing? Head grease? Swingarm grease? I'll have to go somewhere with a lift for that. Dealership, probably, which makes my head ache already. Canister?.......?

| Greasing the swingarm bearings and linkage bearings is a really good idea. How the plug got fucked is anybodies guess. Its a plug fer gods sakes???

| Well, in my ignorance, I look at that plug and go: WTF? How did one cyl get that much hotter than the other?
Antiseize and dielectric applied!

| My 8v is radically different, owing to the generosity of people on this board. You know who you are. Special 'grazie' to Beetle, who gave Tocino (grazie! X2) some guzzidiag maps to try on my bike. First try made a big diff.
Much, much less hunt/surge on steady throttle. Smoother idle and run. Took it out on some narrow two lanes, and on the interslab. Way better all around. Funny how riding is easier, and you can ride better, when not distracted by bullshit from the bike.
New oil leak. Minor so far.
Lost the RH turn signals on the way home.
At this point I just laugh.

| Oh and, is there a comprehensive how-to, what-with on throttle system lubrication? Mine is shit compared to Tocinos. | |

| No troublez! Much happy!
A hiccup or two at idle, a very rare and tiny surge on compression braking...i call that great!
Now I need to lube that throttle, and get the 'diag adaptors.
And find that leak.
Oh hey, is there such a thing as LED lamps for the signals?

Well, you can buy LED replacement globes of various sizes on the interwebs. I'm sure there's one should fit. Google is your friend. Good news. I can likely improve the ride if you can give me specifics on the trouble rev range. And Steve tells me which map....
We put the "Universal" cat+db killer map (FCE6 / 2014.08.18) on there. I'm not sure but I think Rusty likes it There were a few sidelong glances from folks wondering what we were doing with a laptop connected to the bike. Roadside maintenence sure has changed in the last 10 years. [We met at a monthly bike meet-up which had many more bikes than I expected, and a fair cross-section. The GRiSOs attracted their fair share of attention, and I answered a few Qs from people. At this event the Ducati Monster had the best representation (behind HD of course) and there were several other SuperSports/SuperBikes (including a really nice round-case 750); as Rusty pointed out they used to be a rare sighting but not anymore.]

| My own highlights:
White LMIII Stelvio. Dont recall having seen one. Tocino's GRiSO in Oakland Raiders livery.
Mike Hailwood duke.
But prettiest of all was a spectacular CB350. Sweet little thing. I'd squash it like a bug.
