I've decided to fit a front fender extender Pyramid Plastics make a unit for UK19.52p which is good value. However when I went to order one they specified a further UK82.00 additional freight cost !
It occurred to me that maybe Ebay UK had some more sensible alternatives. They do. The Pyramid Plastics part with UK15.00 freight.
I chose a carbon fibre alternative which was only marginally more expensive from Bluebird engineering. All up cost UK64.27p. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]

Although I'd paid for the component Bluebird engineering wrote that they could do a better deal.
I cancelled the first order and reordered from the link they sent. The cost went down from NZ$ 122.98 to NZ$ 62.63 It's on it's way and not expected until late November but so far these guys seem outstanding

You did better than me, I paid US$51.85 for mine. It arrived yesterday.

This turned up today. Really good quality. Excellent value.

I attached mine with some strong double sided tape. It failed the first time, I was lucky to rescue it.
Tried again with clamps to hold it in place for a day or so, seems to be holding now.
Yes, I purchased the carbon fibre version too.

I'm in the process of fitting it. I will sand the surface to bond to give it adhesion. I'll use Sikaflex 291 to bond it and fibreglass tape the inner edges from the component to the mudguard.

I installed a carbon fiber extender to the front fender too. I just used clear RTV for the install, per instructions. I figured it RTV is good enough to hold aircraft cargo door seals on it should be OK for a fender extender.
Seems to be hanging in there some five years later.

I have one on my GRiSO. Used the glue supplied. Been there for at least eight years. Adhesion has been a non-issue.
That said, I am not especially convinced that it does anything ... except not fall off.

Where I'm at with the carbon extension. Scuffed up ready for Sikafex, Sikaflex on and masking removed.

Very nice job. How long did that take to prepare the fender and fix the extender ?

For the Sikaflex about 20 minutes and about the same for the carbon taping but that was the next morning after letting the sikaflex cure.
I'm not quite sure where the idea of shortening the front mudguards comes from but it results in road debris and water being thrown onto the motor and doesn't look right.
It was the reason that the original motor on my Cagiva Elefant was wrecked. It came from England and salt spray had welded the studs to the cylinder on the horizontal cylinder.
