OK Jon, here's some pictures. As you can see from my "drawings" I am not an engineer!! The bobbin is threaded to accept the long bolt that goes through the footrest hanger. I turned the bolt 180 so that the threaded bit sticks out to accept the bobbin. A pair of adapters was made up to fit the Abba Stand fittings.

Well done, a great solution Which Abba stand are you using? Is it the Superbike stand?
Yes, it's a Superbike stand, M6 thread. I've asked my buddy if he'd make up a few extra sets, depending on interest on here.

As mentioned above by Guzzi two-shoes you can use an Abba Sperbike-stand by making up bobbins fitted with longer allen bolts to go at those bottom mount points.
I have done this but there are some 'learning points'
1) the bobbins sit lower than a normal swing arm pivot so the Superbike-stand holds the bike high - it is quite a BIG lift - be prepared 2) the bobbins are wide - right at the end of the Superbike-stand width - so do it up very tight 3) for me getting the stock stainless steel bar, getting it machined and the long allen bolts cost £100......
