I have one of the round oil pumps from a late Cali 1100, about to re-use it. (very similar to the GRiSO oil pump I believe.)

But first thought I'd check it as it comes from an engine that seized its crank after the oil pump gear danced its way off the drive shaft, perhaps only momentarily, while the rider ignored the oil light Shocked Shocked  Shocked , losing the woodruff key and shattering the chain tensioner... (amazingly, not too much damage in the crankcase, the rear main locked everything up pretty fast...)

Anyway, the clearances of the gears are all perfect on the pump, but there's a bit of play on the drive shaft. the little 12mm bearing spins fine. Is the play normal or should I try replacing the bearing...?

Thanks as ever
